Heather Mills: “I Date Carnivores to Convert Them to Veganism Before Moving On”

Heather Mills has revealed she only dates carnivores so she can convert them to veganism before dumping them and moving on to the next man.

The former model and vegan activist, 57, has been linked to her partner Mick Dickman, 39, since 2019 and have made the odd rare appearance together over the years.

The ex-wife of Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney said she has to ‘wean’ people of meat, fish and dairy which is ‘only stage one’ of converting carnivores.

Speaking to Daily Mail at the Vegan Women’s Club gathering in Shoreditch, Heather opened up about meeting her actor partner Mick.

She said: ‘When I met him on a train, he was McDonald’s and Burger King, Dominions [eater].

‘And I went, oh God, I’ve got to put that into the sector and once you wean somebody off the meat, fish and dairy, with meat, fish and dairy alternatives, for those fast-food addicts, it’s the methadone to the heroine.

‘We need to keep converting those carnivores that are addicted to that meat, fish and dairy – that’s only stage one.’

Heather continued by revealing she is ‘finally settled’ with Mick who has since become a ‘passionate vegan’ and has been influencing others.

She continued: ‘I am a problem-solver, so I went in and I saw the issue, and I became a voice and an activist, but that’s only part of it. How do you actually convert people to become vegan and make it as simple as possible, and realistically cost-effective.

‘We made the first vegan McDonald’s burger, and the first Burger King burger, and people said, ‘Why are you doing those meat alternatives?’ I said, ‘Because they’re not for the vegans.’ I’m not interested in the vegans.

‘I wanted to covert carnivores. I only date carnivores and then covert them, and then I dump them, and then move onto the next one. People say, ‘Oh my God, I could never go out with meat eaters’, and I say, ‘Yes, you can – just convert them.’

‘I ended up dating a lot of people and finally I’ve settled for one and I can’t let him go, because he’s passionately got behind it, and influenced millions more people.

‘So that was one issue solved, that I can be with someone, keep them vegan and basically get them to become a huge, huge influencer in the future.’

Their love story began when Heather sent him flirty messages on a train journey between Kent and London.

She told Daily Mail: 'I only date carnivores and then covert them, and then I dump them, and then move onto the next one. People say, 'Oh my God, I could never go out with meat eaters', and I say, 'Yes, you can – just convert them'

The Mail On Sunday reported at the time that Heather slipped the film producer her business card and also a note saying: ‘I think you’re hot. Email me.’

A source said: ‘Mike was sitting on his own having had a long, boozy lunch and Heather was sitting next to him playing a card game with her daughter Beatrice.

‘Heather kept eyeing him up and just before the jour ney ended at London Bridge, she passed him a series of notes when her daughter wasn’t looking. One said, ‘I think you’re hot. Email me.’

Mike and Heather are said to have exchanged commitment rings just before Christmas 2024, but are reportedly not married or officially engaged.

Their symbol of commitment came 13 years after her well-publicised divorce battle with Sir Paul, 81.

Heather’s boyfriend Mike viewed the exchange of commitment rings as an ‘informal engagement’ and the pair are in no hurry to get married, it was claimed.

A source told The Sun: ‘Heather and Mike are incredibly happy. It’s so good to see a smile on her face again after a turbulent few years.

‘They’re completely in love. Heather has told pals he’s the love of her life whilst, for his part, Mike adores her and is completely devoted.

Heather split from Beatles legend Sir Paul in 2006, after four years of marriage and they share daughter Beatrice Milly McCartney, now 21.

After her split, Heather sought a £125million settlement. But a High Court judge awarded her just a fifth of that sum – £24.3 million which she said she was ‘very, very pleased with’.

She was also awarded payments of £35,000 per annum, for a nanny and school costs for their daughter Beatrice.

Mr Justice Bennett labelled her a ‘less than impressive witness’, who had exaggerated the extent of her wealth before she met the former Beatle.

The activist had her leg amputated after a car accident in 1993 and was then diagnosed with Lyme disease after she returned from a mission in Cambodia with Katharine, Duchess of Kent in 1999.

Heather previously revealed that she was forced to ‘live off liquid food for three years’ after contracting Lyme Disease.

The illness left her with a ‘burst appendix’ and ‘always in agony’ after the removal of her gallbladder.

She has long since credited her strict vegan diet for saving her life.
