Sally Struthers was seen for the first time since the murder of her former costar Rob Reiner.
On Monday, the actress, 78, seemed to be distraught as she stepped out in Los Angeles over two weeks after learning of the late director and his wife Michele Singer Reiner’s deaths.Â
She wore an all-black outfit with the exception of a deep burgundy red, patterned sweater and a gold heart pendant for her outing. Â
Her light blonde hair appeared to have been previously curled and styled, and the television star opted for a fresh-faced visage while seemingly running errands.Â
Struthers and Reiner last appeared together at the Emmys in January 2024 for a tribute to the All in the Family showrunner Norman Lear.
Earlier this month, just days after she received the tragic news of her former costar and his wife’s deaths, she paid tribute to the couple and reflected on the time working on the TV show with Reiner.Â

In her statement, she recalled how Reiner ‘changed her life’ after giving her a meaningful piece of advice, per Deadline.Â
She previously starred opposite the actor-director in the sitcom All in the Family in the 1970s.Â
It was one of Reiner’s most iconic acting roles as Michael ‘Meathead’ Stivic in the hit CBS series.Â
Struthers played his onscreen wife Gloria Stivic on the show, which ran for nine seasons before wrapping in 1979.Â
Over two decades ago, the pair also reunited onstage together to accept the Innovator award for the series at the inaugural TV Land Awards in March 2003.
Two days after December 14, the day when Reiner and his wife were found dead in their Brentwood home in an apparent double homicide, Struthers reflected on her time working with him over 50 years ago.Â
The Reiners’ middle child, Nick Reiner, 32, was later arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection to his parents’ deaths.
The actor-director and his film producer wife were 78 and 70, respectively. They are also survived by their eldest son Jake Reiner, 34, and their youngest child, daughter Romy Reiner, 28.Â

Struthers remembered Reiner was a ‘machine’ who gave her valuable career advice in an interview with Woman’s World.Â
She said that Reiner once told her something she still goes by to this day and how it changed the course of her career.Â
She recalled he once told her: ‘If you can make the show itself more important than your own part, you will wind up offering to give up some of your lines.’Â
She also talked about the relationship their characters had on the show, adding that she believes Gloria was ‘inspired’ by Mike.Â
However, Struthers said she believed the husband and wife duo would not have stayed married in the long run based on her expertise of their characters’ personalities.
‘Gloria Bunker Stivic would have married,’ she said, sharing that she believes her character would have ended up with ‘someone just as inspiring as her first husband, because Mike taught Gloria a lot.’Â
In addition to starring in All in the Family between 1971 and 1979, she also reprised her role in the spinoffs Archie Bunker’s Place and Gloria.Â

After learning of her late costar and his wife’s deaths, she released a statement to Deadline.Â
‘There are no words. This is beyond devastating and my heart is with their family,’ she said.Â
Struthers previously reunited with Reiner at the Emmys in early 2024 to pay tribute to Norman Lear, the creator of All in the Family.
Lear died at the age of 101 in December 2023.Â
At the time, Reiner gushed about his time working on the show as he remembered the late, award-winning screenwriter and producer.
‘Sally and I were part of a unique television family: not just the Bunkers, but Norman Lear’s extended family,’ he said.Â
‘Over the decades, Norman brought us together and he created groundbreaking television shows that depicted real people who made us laugh, made us think, made us feel.’Â
