Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has revealed the heartbreaking words her daughter Kitty used to urge her mum to give up vaping.
The radio queen, 50, admitted to co-host Kyle Sandilands on Thursday her 14-year-old’s protests over the habit was initially treated as misinformation by Jackie.
‘Every now and then I will suck down a vape here and there when I’m not in the position to have a cigarette,’ Jackie said.
‘Kitty’s always saying to me, “mum, please those things explode in people’s faces, and I always say to her, “don’t believe everything you see on TikTok”.’
Jackie added she did not take her daughter’s concerns seriously until she discovered a shocking incident in the US this week that left a woman scarred for life after rechargeable e-cigarette exploded in her car.
Suzanne Manus had been driving back to her house after a shopping trip when her device, resting in between her thighs, blew up without warning in November last year.

‘But then I saw that a car has burst into flames from a vape,’ a shocked Jackie added.
‘It was sitting on the mum’s lap, she got all these third degree burns and the car burst into flames.’
Jackie then issued a warning to listeners about the potential dangers of e-cigarettes.
‘So, they say that if your vape starts to heat up and you feel it getting warm…’ Jackie began, before being interrupted by fellow ‘vaper’ Kyle.
‘That happens every time you have it,’ he protested, before Jackie replied with ‘It doesn’t change temperature.’
Kyle added: ‘Yeah it does. oh, sorry, mine are THC vapes – they’re not your bloody bubblegum squirt or whatever.’
Continuing her warning Jackie added: ‘If you feel it getting really hot, chuck it out immediately’
It prompted newsreader Brooklyn Ross to ask what the safest way to dispose of a potentially explosive vape with be.
‘That’s like having a grenade in your hand,’ Jackie added.

‘Oh c’mon. You should go and work at Sunrise,’ Kyle protested, referring to the Channel Seven morning show’s recent coverage of Kyle and Jackie O’s controversial ball drop competition.
Jackie’s comments come after Ms Manus warned of the potential dangers of vapes.
Prior to her terrifying ordeal, her husband Bobby had been on the phone to her at the time, and heard the ‘boom’ of the explosion.
She waited for an ambulance to arrive and watched as her Nissan Rogue Sport car turned into a ‘fireball’.
She was then rushed to Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama, before being airlifted to a trauma centre.
Doctors informed her she had suffered extensive burns on her inner thighs, her genitals and bottom.
The stay-at-home-mum and carer then had to undergo two surgeries including a skin graft to help heal her wounds.
Back in 2023, however, Jackie herself was ‘busted’ driving with a vape in her lap while on holiday with Kitty.

In a video shared to The Kyle and Jackie O Instagram account, Jackie was struggling to navigate French traffic as she drove around Saint-Tropez.
She looked embarrassed when she accidentally drove on the wrong side of the road in a BMW rental with her daughter, 12, sitting in the back seat.
As she looked around and apologised to surrounding drivers, an apple-flavoured vape was perched in her lap on top of her mobile phone.
The KIIS FM host previously spoke about her very real struggle with cigarettes over the years – and the lengths she’s gone to to hide it.
‘There was a period where I gave up and then started secretly smoking,’ she said on her show back in 2021.
‘I had to hide it from Lee [Henderson, her ex-husband] because he didn’t want me smoking.’
