Former Married At First Sight bride Hayley Vernon shared a heartbreaking family update to social media on Thursday, revealing her beloved grandfather had died.
The recently-retired adult entertainer, 37, shared a photo of herself as a child posing with her grandfather at a jetty and captioned it with some tragic words.
‘My grandpa passed away this morning. He was obsessed with me and I was with him. He would constantly remind me how much he loved me. Shattered,’ she wrote.
She also shared a precious story revealing how she lost contact with him for over a decade, but managed to reconnect with him shortly before his death.
‘I met my grandad after years of not seeing him. When my family split up I lost contact with him for about 15 years. My biggest fear was never being able to see him again in this lifetime,’ she began.

‘But it was a miracle. I was in hospital with a blood infection and as I walked out of emergency I heard a voice. It was my grandad.’
Hayley added the surprise reunion was an emotional experience for the both of them.
‘He started balling his eyes out too, telling me it was a miracle. He got his mate back. We sat there hugging each other and crying non-stop. He loved me so much and I loved him. That day was a miracle.’

At the time, she said she had gone five weeks without drinking alcohol and 14 weeks without using illicit drugs.
