Happy Mondays star Bez caused chaos as he refused to let go of the mic during Sunday nights MTV EMAs at Manchester’s Co-Op Live Arena.
The percussionist and dancer, 60, couldn’t contain his excitement during an interview with host Rita Ora as she fought back laughter in her attempt to keep the show on track.
Bez was joined by his bandmate Shaun Ryder at the awards, and with both of them originally from Manchester, Rita joked: ‘We are joined by Manchester royalty tonight’.
However chaos soon descended as Bez refused to let go of the mic as Rita struggled to get away and remain undistracted by the star.
As Rita attempted to cut off Bez as she said: ‘Ok well let’s leave that there,’ he interrupted as he added: ‘Rita let me tell you how lovely you are. You make everyone so welcome, you are a special lady.’
