It was supposed to be her big showbiz comeback after plans to reunite with S Club 7 dramatically fell apart.
But Hannah Spearritt was left heartbroken when she became just the second person to be eliminated from this year’s Dancing on Ice, and now she has decided not to return for Sunday’s finale, the Mail can reveal.
The former pop star, 42, has not accepted an invitation to return for the eagerly-anticipated final episode this weekend, alongside her fellow contestants.
‘Naturally we’d love Hannah to be a part of Sunday’s final and skate alongside the other cast members of 2024 but as yet, have not received confirmation from Hannah or her reps that she will be taking part in the show,’ said an ITV insider.
Ms Spearritt, who pulled out of the forthcoming S Club reunion shortly after the death of bandmate and ex-boyfriend Paul Cattermole last year, was plagued by illness during her short-lived stint on the ITV skating contest.

She had a ‘nasty fall’ during rehearsals for her second skate and later revealed she’d suffered from a number of illnesses during training, linked to an infection from a broken tooth.
Due to her health problems, which included flu and the norovirus, she missed a number of rehearsals which left her on the back foot.
She then scored just 20 points out of a possible 40 for her Frozen-inspired skate in the second week with professional partner Andy Buchanan and became an early evictee.
‘The show starts in three hours, I’ve had a fall. It is just a reminder that it is quite a dangerous thing that we’re doing,’ she said in a video clip posted ahead of the live show.
Seemingly devastated by her early exit, Ms Spearritt later said that she was ‘disappointed’ in a video posted on social media.
‘Obviously I’m disappointed but the level was so, so high and I’m just excited to see the journey that everyone else is going to go on now,’ she said.
‘And it’s just been such an amazing team, you know what it’s like. I just love Sundays, like, the transformation. I’m going to miss it.’
Ms Spearritt, who has suffered from an autoimmune condition since 2013, had been set to join her former band on their comeback tour but pulled out following a feud over contracts.

Following the row, the other members – Rachel Stevens, Jo O’Meara, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh and Tina Barrett – announced that they would continue as a five-piece.
She is said to have been blindsided but the announcement, with her left on bad terms with the band in which she rose to fame in the early 2000s.
Hannah has since admitted she doesn’t know if she will ever sing with S Club again.
She told how ‘everything’ changed for her after Paul’s death and gave her time to reflect on whether rejoining the band was the right thing to do.

Hannah told The Sun: ‘Will I ever perform with them again? I just don’t know, I’m glad that the tour is still going ahead and the songs will live on, but now I’m looking forward, not backwards.’
She explained that after Paul’s death, she realised she couldn’t rejoin S Club for the tour, admitting ‘it just didn’t feel right’.
Hannah apologised to S Club’s fans for not deciding to leave but said she had to do what was best for herself and her family.
A representative for Ms Spearritt has been contacted for comment.
