Halsey confirmed she is engaged to her Canadian actor and singer, Avan Jogia, over X (previously known as Twitter), hours after performing at the Video Music Awards.
After taking the stage at New York’s UBS on Wednesday night, the 29-year-old pop star, who uses she/they pronouns, gave her fans an exciting update about her love life.
After seeing a social media post that referred to Jogia her boyfriend, the Without Me hitmaker corrected the statement by replying: ‘***fiancé Avan Jogia.’
Earlier in the evening, she teased that they were looking forward to walking down the aisle someday when she was asked if they planned on getting married.
‘I hope so,’ the mother-of-one gushed of whether she wants to tie the knot with Jogia. ‘Avan is the best.’

She continued: ‘He’s one of the greatest things that ever happened to me. And every single day that I get to spend with him is one where I just feel like I’m with my best friend.’
Additionally, the About-Face founder raved about how he is ‘best friends’ with her three-year-old son, Ender, who she shares with ex Alev Aydin.
‘They’re inseparable,’ she told E! News.
In July, the couple sparked engagement rumors after they were seen packing on the PDA during a romantic picnic.
During the outing, she was seen wearing a green emerald surrounded by smaller, sparkling diamonds on her left hand.
Halsey and Avan – who mainly keep their relationship out of the public eye – first sparked romance rumors in June 2023 when they were spotted on a trip to Spain.
Later in September, the pair were seen together once again while holding hands on a date in Los Angeles.
The following month, the couple went Instagram official as they showed off stylish, leather ensembles which were designed by Luis De Javier. Halsey and Jogia also flaunted their costumes for Halloween on social media.

Earlier this year in April, the two stars made their red carpet debut while attending the premiere of Monkey Man in West Hollywood.
She stunned in a fitted, corset-styled minidress while Avan was dapper in a black, pin-striped suit for the festivities.
A few months earlier in May, the lovebirds also made an appearance at the 2024 Gold Gala in Los Angeles.
The songstress and actor both wore outfits for the event from Indian fashion designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
In a recent TikTok clip shared earlier this month, Jogia could be seen filming the pair in the reflection of a mirror as she touched up her makeup. She added the text, ‘When I think he’s taking pretty photos of me.’
A montage of ‘unflattering’ photos then appeared as part of a viral trend, including one as she went topless and sported only a pair of pink and white-striped shorts.

Their engagement comes after she revealed her health battle to the world.
In an Instagram post uploaded in June, she explained to her followers, ‘In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder.’
‘Both of which are currently being managed or in remission; and both of which I will likely have for the duration of my life.’
However, she positively added, ‘After a rocky start, I slowly got everything under control with the help of amazing doctors.’
‘After 2 years, I’m feeling better and I’m more grateful than ever to have music to turn to,’ the mother-of-one continued. ‘I can’t wait to get back where I belong: With you all. Singing and screaming my heart out.’
On June 4, Halsey also dropped her single, The End, which is also on her upcoming fifth studio album which has yet to be titled.
In a separate post, she also opened up about her health battle in series of videos that appeared to document the singer receiving infusions and also showed her breaking down in tears.

In 2022, Halsey shared on Instagram that she had been diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogre’s syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome – known as MCAS – and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, known as POTS.
The singer also suffers from endometriosis, and gave her followers an update earlier this year in March after undoing a procedure.
At the time, she uploaded a photo to social media and explained that she was ‘back in diapers’ during the recovery process.
The Bad At Love singer has also previously revealed her ADHD and bipolar disorder diagnosis.
