Hailey Bieber Takes Swipe at Scooter Braun After Praise for Justin’s Album

Hailey Bieber seemingly made a thinly-veiled dig at Justin’s ex-manager Scooter Braun after he broke silence on the singer’s new album Swag.

The Rhode founder, 28 – who recently clapped back at haters of her husband’s new music – jumped to her Instagram stories to share a selfie of herself with a filter that made her eyes and lips larger.

She then added the track Obsessed by Mariah Carey to play in the background – which was possibly geared towards Braun’s comments over Bieber’s LP which dropped on Friday.

Earlier on Saturday, Scooter offered his thoughts on Swag after both he and Justin previously parted ways back in 2023.

He wrote in a statement on Instagram: ‘This is, without a doubt, the most authentically Justin Bieber album to date. It’s beautiful, raw, and truly him. And that matters.

‘I’ve had the privilege of witnessing his growth for almost two decades. Along every journey, there comes a time when an artist fully steps into their own – and that’s what he’s done here.’

The record executive added that the music artist ‘poured his soul into this project, and you can feel it in every single run.’

Braun continued his praise by penning, ‘The way he chose to release it is just as intentional as the music itself – and I’m happy to see him do it his way.

‘I have played no roll in this one, but as someone who’s always believed in him, I’m incredibly proud and impressed and genuinely enjoying the music.’

Scooter said that Bieber ‘has a special tone that I have witnessed for almost 2 decades. It’s the best in the world. And because of that special tone, I have to say daisies is probably my favorite record on the album.’

He concluded the message by encouraging his followers to give the Swag album a listen and to ‘support an authentic voice.’

Hailey has continued to support her husband and clapped back at haters of his new music.

While some have expressed excitement over the star finally releasing music, others were critical of the album and labeled it a ‘messy cry for help.’

It comes after the Peaches hitmaker sparked fan concern over his health in recent months.

Hailey also jumped to her Instagram stories and shared: ‘Justin Bieber’s “Swag” earned 74.37 million streams on the Global Spotify Chart in its FIRST day, beating “Justice’ and becoming Justin’s biggest debut ever on the platform.’

In an additional slide, the mom-of-one also included a link to Justin’s website where fans can purchase the album as well.

The couple – who tied the knot in 2018 – have been enjoying a summer getaway along the Mediterranean.

Their baby boy Jack Blues also joined the pair as well as Leonardo DiCaprio’s ex-girlfriend Camila Morrone.

The Daisy Jones & The Six actress could be seen grooving to Justin’s track Way It Is while relaxing on a boat.

Hailey has further promoted her husband’s new music by sharing a picture of a billboard in Times Square of Justin’s album cover – while also slamming those who fueled marriage trouble rumors.

In text added towards the bottom of the image, she also typed out: ‘Is it finally clocking to you f***ing losers?’

The insider added, ‘Everyone knows Justin as a star and a performer. They now get to know the artist that Hailey has known all these years.’

After Justin parted ways from Braun, the music artist was able to ‘run his own show’ when it came to creating Swag.

‘Hailey supported Justin to follow his artistic instincts. She helped him to trust himself and do what Justin knew he wanted to do as an artist.’

A few days earlier on Thursday, it was reported that Justin has agreed to hand over millions to his ex-manager Scooter Braun as their years-long financial dispute comes to an end.

The pair have finally reached a settlement agreement that will reportedly cost Bieber over $30million, according to TMZ.

After Bieber cancelled his Justice tour in 2022, Braun’s company HYBE America helped the singer pay back $26million of the original $40million advance he received from AEG.

Bieber had allegedly agreed to pay back the money over a 10-year period but allegedly stopped making payments to HYBE after the first installment.

Braun also previously claimed that Bieber – who announced a new album on Thursday – owed him several million dollars in unpaid commissions.

But now, sources tell TMZ that Bieber will finally make good on his debts as the pair’s settlement terms call for him to pay back the entire $26million.

In a win for Bieber, the Grammy-winner will only have to pay Braun half of the $11million in unpaid commissions he allegedly owes him.

DailyMail.com has reached out to representatives for both Bieber and Braun for comment.

The settlement news comes after TMZ claimed that Bieber was in the midst of negotiating the terms of a settlement with Braun and that the details would likely be fully hashed out within a matter of weeks.

Back in May, the outlet revealed the alleged results of an independent audit performed by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) that was commissioned by Braun’s entertainment company, Hybe America.

The investigation, which lasted for six months, culminated in April with the determination that Bieber allegedly owed Braun $8,806,000.

Although Bieber’s team didn’t publicly dispute the results of the PwC audit, they announced that they had conducted their own audit of his business dealings with Braun.

However, they didn’t share how its results compared to the independent audit.

Despite the determination of Bieber’s alleged debts from a third party, Braun was reportedly willing to forgive the $8 million entirely.

However, TMZ’s sources claimed there were still two major stumbling blocks in the way of an agreement between the two.

Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) had given Bieber an impressive $40 million advance for his Justice World Tour, which commenced in February 2022, after it was twice postponed – from 2020, and then 2021 – due to the coronavirus pandemic.

After it finally got under way, Bieber ending up cancelling 14 concerts scheduled for June and July 2022 when he suffered temporary facial paralysis as a result of Ramsay Hunt syndrome.

He resumed touring for a short stint from late April 2022 through early September 2022 in Europe, the Nordic countries and Brazil, before canceling the remainder of the tour.

In response to the cancellation, AEG reportedly tried to claw back $24 million of Bieber’s original advance, but Braun’s company Hybe agreed to step in and front the money for the repayment.

In response, Bieber was allegedly required to pay back Hybe in installments spread out over 10 years, but he allegedly stopped paying after just a single installment.

Sources claimed that the advance repayment was a major sticking point for Braun, and they alleged that Bieber has finally agreed to repay the amount.

According to them, after his wife Hailey Bieber’s profit from the $1billion sale of her cosmetics company Rhode, Justin was now willing to settle up.

Another reported requirement from Braun is that Bieber pay back $11 million he allegedly owes from commissions that were never paid, which was outside the scope of the PwC audit.

However, TMZ’s sources say Braun is willing to settle the debt for ‘pennies on the dollar,’ which could be a major break for Bieber.

But the payments reportedly ceased after just one installment, and sources close to Braun claimed to TMZ that the singer said he simply couldn’t afford to keep paying.

Sources close to Bieber alleged that he stopped paying because his business manager had dug through old transactions and determined that the singer had overpaid Hybe by $26 million.

In response to that claim, Hybe reportedly performed an internal audit, which came to a drastically different conclusion: that Bieber owed $1 million even before his agreement to pay back the $24 million.

Bieber’s team disputed the internal audit over fears that it could have been influenced to come out in Hybe’s favor, which led the company to commission the independent audit from PwC that determined Bieber owed even more money, to the tune of $8 million.
