Gwyneth Paltrow’s Rare Beauty Fail Before Event

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Rare Beauty Fail Before Event

Gwyneth Paltrow suffered a rare beauty fail this week while on her way to a high-profile event.

On Thursday, the Oscar-winner, 53, joined the United States’ top venture capitalists during this year’s All Raise VC Summit held in Half Moon Bay, California.

Hours before she was set to appear at the conference, Paltrow took to her Instagram Story to share a filter-free selfie.

While her makeup looked flawless, Paltrow’s straightened blonde hair had pesky flyaways all along the part, many of which seemed to defy gravity.

‘On my way to half moon bay for [All Raise VC Summit] and in need of hairspray,’ the Iron Man star captioned the post.

A member of Paltrow’s glam squad must have caught wind of her plight as Paltrow returned to Instagram just minutes later with her hair looking sleek and smooth.

For the annual conference, Paltrow slipped into a chic all-black outfit consisting of a turtleneck top, skirt and a skinny belt with a dainty gold buckle.

She accessorized with large glasses, a pricey gold watch and chunky gold rings.

She snapped a photo of herself in the mirror in her hotel room before heading into the conference, which runs from November 5 to November 7.

The All Raise VC Summit ‘brings investors together to author their next chapters and build the relationships that will shape the future of venture capital,’ according to the official website.

Paltrow was one of the featured speakers who appeared on the event’s main stage.

She co-leads the successful venture capital firm Kinship Ventures with beauty industry veterean, Moj Mahdara.

In 2023, the LA-based firm announced their goal to raise $75 million to invest in ‘early-stage consumer goods and technology companies,’ as reported by Axios

During Thursday’s conference, Paltrow snapped a selfie with Mahdara in the audience as they attended one of the day’s events.

Paltrow’s appearance at the All Raise VC Summit came just hours after she jetted to New York City to watch her son Moses Martin perform with his band, People I’ve Met.

She shares the 19-year-old as well as model daughter Apple Martin, 21, with ex-husband Chris Martin, 48, who she famously ‘consciously uncoupled’ with in 2014.

In a photo from the concert shared to Instagram, Moses towered over his famous mother and her friends, author Amy Griffin, actress Demi Moore and producer Sara Foster.

Paltrow dubbed the evening ‘a night in NYC to remember’ during which the group enjoyed a dinner at West Village steakhouse The Eighty Six.

Moses is following in the footsteps of his superstar father while also studying as a sophomore at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

Meanwhile, Paltrow and Martin’s daughter Apple is an up and coming model while majoring in law at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Following her divorce from Martin, Paltrow found love again with Glee and American Horror Story creator, Brad Falchuk.

She and the screenwriter/producer, 54, tied the knot in 2018 and have been happily married ever since.

Paltrow is stepmom to Falchuk’s daughter Isabella Falchuk, 21, and son Brody, 18, whom he shares with ex-wife Suzanne Bulnik.

Paltrow previously spoke about some of the errors she made in creating a blended family on her Goop podcast back in April with Falchuk as her guest.

‘We traversed through some really rough things,’ the Avengers franchise star told her husband.

‘One of the most profound lessons that I’ve learned from my relationship with your daughter — which is now so fantastic — is there was a testing going on.’ she explained.

‘She was testing me at the time to see at what point I would reject her.’

To avoid getting an reputation as an ‘evil stepmother,’ the actress and entrepreneur decided to take a maternal approach.

‘I was going to be that presence for her, always loving and forgiving in the face of, you know, if she acted up, and show her that ultimately I was so there for her that she would not question my intentions or think that I was there to take you away from her,’ she explained.

As with most step-parents, Paltrow said she struggled with discipline.

‘I thought that in my case, if I assert my boundaries or my expectations around manners, or anything like that, it will exacerbate the situation,’ she said.

Paltrow admitted if she could, she would do things differently.

‘If I look back at my mistakes as a stepmother, I should have just treated them both like my kids way faster, like, I was too worried about everyone’s feelings, in a way.’

Paltrow’s appearance at Thursday’s conference comes just weeks after she gave fans a rare look at her day-to-day life as a Hollywood actress living in Montecito, California.

She did so by uploading a video of herself in her bathroom doing her extensive morning wellness routine.

Wearing a fuzzy robe and appearing makeup-free, Paltrow listed the six things she does everyday right after she wakes up.

The first thing the actress does is use a copper tongue scraper; the benefits are oral hygiene by reducing bacteria and bad breath, enhanced taste sensitivity, and potential benefits for overall health, such as reduced inflammation and a lower bacterial load in the body.

Next Paltrow stuffs a packet in her mouth which she said is for ‘oil pulling’, which is an ancient Ayurvedic practice of swishing edible oil in the mouth for up to 20 minutes to improve oral hygiene.

Then she washes her face with a cleanser from her wellness brand Goop, which she says smells nice.

The ex of Brad Pitt follows that up with using a Peptide Serum from Goop which she says gives her a ‘glow’.

After that, the daughter of actress Blythe Danner rubs on an ‘all-in-one moisturizer’ which she says she loves because it is ‘rich’ which helps her ‘dry skin’.

To round out her morning routine, Paltrow applies a yellow Goop face oil which she says is like ‘liquid gold’; she also applies the oil to her tanned arms.
