Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed she has a ‘chef crush’ on cooking extraordinaire Josh Emett.
In her latest Goop newsletter, Paltrow – who has been married to producer Brad Falchuk since 2018 – described hosting Emett and his family for dinner, along with the mouth-watering recipes they made together.
‘I’ve had a chef crush on Josh Emett for a little over a year,’ the Goop founder wrote. ‘And recently, I was lucky enough to have him and his beautiful family over for dinner while they were visiting the States from New Zealand.
‘Of course, we cooked together. Josh showed me the reverse-sear method he likes to use at home for prime rib, and the key to his go-to steak sauce.
‘We made the Hasselback potatoes that first made me fall for Josh’s recipes. And I contributed a butternut squash from my garden, which Josh immediately had an elegant vision for roasting and garnishing.

‘Every bite was outstanding, and Josh is letting us share each recipe in today’s newsletter story.’
Emett is a New Zealand chef who once served as Gordon Ramsay’s head chef and appeared as a judge on MasterChef New Zealand.
He has opened several restaurants in New Zealand and recently launched the eatery Onslow with his wife Helen.
Gwyneth has been married to Falchuk for six years now, tying the knot with him several years after her first marriage to Chris Martin ended in divorce.
The Shakespeare In Love star and Coldplay singer were married for nearly ten years from 2003 to 2014. They share daughter Apple, 20, and son Moses, 18, together.
Following their ‘conscious uncoupling’ Paltrow went on to marry Falchuk in 2018.
Gwyneth previously described how Brad opened her heart to the possibility of falling in love again.
Speaking to a packed crowd on stage at a Besties event in Sydney last year, the actress explained her husband helped her overcome her vulnerabilities.

When asked if she feared starting a new relationship, Gwyneth told the audience she was, ‘petrified’.
‘I think I’m a person who is scared of intimacy anyway’ the star explained.
‘So some of the boyfriends that I had chosen in my life were people that weren’t fully capable of intimacy and that way you can be like, “Oh [they’re the ones with the problem]. I’m ready to do this and they’re not.”
‘Which is just a clever way not to admit you’re the one you know. And I’m still scared sometimes.’
Despite being half a decade into her marriage, Gwyn said these are issues she still struggles with.

‘We’ve been married for five years and sometimes I’m like, “this is hard being so vulnerable”. He demands total intimacy, and openness, so it’s like a practice for me all the time’ she said.
‘Generally you are reenacting the relationship you had with the most complicated parent.’
Gwyn added: ‘I’ve been very lucky with Brad because I have chemistry with him and he’s my best friend. He cares so much about the quality of our relationship.
‘Second marriages can be really special.’
The star went on to explain there is still plenty of spark in the marriage and her man thinks she looks ‘hot’.
‘He has such a grounding presence. He’s sweet. He’s always like – you’re 51 and you’re getting in the shower and he’s like, “you’re so hot” and I’m like “no, definitely I’m not” – but he thinks so’ she said.
