Guy Sebastian has revealed his very unique technique for getting his children to stop throwing tantrums.
The Voice Australia coach, 42, shares his sons Hudson, 12, and Archie, nine, with his wife Jules, and he has given an insight into his parenting style and family life.
Speaking on KIIS 97.3’s Robin & Kip, Guy revealed the surprising method he used to get his children to stop having tantrums when they were toddlers.
He said he would mimic his son’s tantrums, making them realise how ‘stupid’ they sounded when they were ‘blowing up’ and prompting them to swiftly stop.
He explained: ‘When they blow up, I would mimic them. So even at like two years old or one and a half years old, I think when a kid realises how stupid they sound when they’re blowing up.

‘It’s weirdly worked with my kids, like they’d be screaming and I would just do the same thing at them.
‘It’s almost like it was confronting for them so much that they’d look at me and just go, is that what I sound like? And then they would just stop.’
Guy also admitted he struggled with ‘dad guilt’ while he was busy touring and praised his wife Jules for looking after their two sons by herself while he was away.
‘Me touring, going away, I’d feel so bad because people would think, oh, I’m playing shows every night, it must be so tiring,’ he said.
‘I’m like, no, no, no, no. Jules, like, is doing all of that stuff alone. Yeah, I’m literally playing shows, sleeping in a hotel room, you know, with no noise.’

He went on to gush over his childhood sweetheart Jules, who he married in 2008, and described their relationship as ‘rare’ as he told how ‘lucky’ he is to have her.
The singer said: ‘We’ve been mates since I was 12 years old, you know, like, we just know each other, grew up like we know we’ve got history. It’s never been like a point scoring thing.
‘We’ve just been mates that want each other to win. And yeah, I’m pretty lucky because not everyone has that. It’s pretty rare, I reckon.’
Guy was 18 years old when he first started dating Jules but they briefly broke up when he was 21 – prior to his appearance on Australian Idol – before getting back together.
Speaking about their split last year, Guy told Sunrise: ‘I didn’t think we would get back together.

‘I was 18 when we first got together and I think I was 21 [when we broke up] and she kind of broke my heart.’
‘She broke up with me and then Idol happened and I moved to Sydney and I didn’t think we’d get back together, I wasn’t sure.’
They went on to tie the knot eight years later at a romantic ceremony in Manly and welcomed their son Hudson in 2012, and their second child Archie two years later.
