McDonald’s is turning up the volume for this year’s McHappy Day – and they’ve enlisted one of Australia’s biggest electronic band to bring the good vibes.
Mashd N Kutcher have dropped the official McHappy Day 2025 anthem raising funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities and celebrating the power of community, courage and kindness.
What makes the track truly special is that it features the real voices and laughter of children staying at Ronald McDonald House South Brisbane.
From chatter around the dinner table and giggles in the playground to their very own remix of the famous ‘ba da ba ba ba’ jingle, the song captures the joy and resilience of families supported by the charity.
‘It’s the first time we’ve been involved with McHappy Day, so we were very excited,’ Mashd N Kutcher frontman Matt James told Daily Mail.
‘McDonald’s reached out and asked us to make a song for McHappy Day – and of course, we couldn’t say no.’

The hitmaking DJs have dropped the official McHappy Day 2025 anthem raising funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities
The band – known for their high-energy performances and genre-blending style – were invited to visit Ronald McDonald House in Brisbane, where they met families and children and turned those precious sounds into music.
‘We went into the House with some instruments – a keyboard and some percussion bits – and let the kids have a jam,’ Matt explained.
‘We recorded those moments and incorporated them into the final track. So what you’re hearing isn’t just music – it’s their joy, laughter and voices mixed into our sound.’
He said the experience was ‘incredibly touching and inspiring’.
‘Meeting the families and seeing their strength and positivity through tough times was something I’ll never forget. That energy really influenced the uplifting tone of the track,’ he said.
Created in collaboration with McDonald’s Australia, the anthem aims to shine a light on Ronald McDonald House Charities, which supports more than 69,000 families every year.
Matt said he was amazed to learn about the impact the organisation has across the country.
‘Each house really is like a home away from home for families in need. Learning about that and being able to share it with our audience is pretty special.’

The track has officially dropped and will play in Macca’s restaurants nationwide.
‘Seeing the kids light up while playing instruments, sharing laughs and even singing the Macca’s jingle was magic,’ Matt said. ‘It was a privilege to bring a little fun into their day, and I think that magic shines through in the song.’
Asked his go-to Macca’s order, Matt laughed: ‘I’d have to say a Big Mac – especially this year, since two dollars from every Big Mac goes straight to Ronald McDonald House Charities.’
Mashd N Kutcher are also preparing to release their second album early next year.
‘It’s full of high-energy dance records – with a lot of rock influence,’ Matt teased. ‘We’ll be touring around Australia and internationally in 2026.’
The group made their debut as a dance act and electronic band in 2014 with their first single Do It Now which peaked at number 33 on the ARIA charts.
However, they are most well known for their 2020 release Get On The Beers which remixed a press conference held by Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews during COVID.
McHappy Day 2025 takes place on Saturday, November 15, with two dollars from every Big Mac sold donated directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
