Some people on the internet are convinced that Gucci Mane’s 1017 record label is cursed after news emerged that an Atlanta rapper died – the seventh artist signed with him to suffer a tragedy.

It was revealed that a young musician known as Enchanting had passed away on Tuesday after an overdose reportedly left her on life support.

The 26-year-old star, whose real name was Channing Nicole Larry, was signed to Gucci’s label – and it turns out, she’s not the only member of 1017 who has met a harrowing fate.

In fact, numerous people who were part of the recording company have either died or gone to jail over the years, leaving many social media users convinced that the label was ‘cursed.’

Back in December 2022, rapper Big Scarr died tragically from an accidental prescription drug overdose at age 22.

One month later, Hotboy Wes was arrested for numerous charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, and endangering children.

He was ultimately sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty.

Rapper Pooh Shiesty has also racked up a criminal record since signing with 1017 Records.

He was arrested in June 2020 for armed robbery, aggravated assault, battery, and criminal theft, and then, in June 2021, he was taken into custody again in connection to a shooting at a strip club in Miami.

He pleaded guilty to a firearm conspiracy charge and was sentenced to five years behind bars in April 2022.

Foogiano, who served three years in jail for burglary and robbery charges before he joined 1017, was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in December 2020, and he received a five-year sentence for it.

Amid the news that Enchanting had died, X, formerly Twitter, was flooded with posts about the alleged 1017 ‘curse.’

‘The 1017 curse strikes again, SMH,’ one person wrote. Another added, ‘The 1017 curse is so real.’

‘I’m convinced it’s a curse to sign to 1017,’ a different user announced.

‘1017 gotta be cursed, God bless them though,’ a fourth tweet read. A fifth said, ‘Don’t sign to 1017. Gucci might have a curse on [it].’

And when Gucci, whose real name is Radric Delantic Davis, shared a tribute to Enchanting on Instagram, his post was flooded with comments about it.

‘So sad to have to say RIP to such a great young lady, a true star. We gone all miss you ‘Chant,’ he wrote.

‘It’s yo fault,’ one person replied, while another said, ‘Another sacrifice.’

The comments became so intense that his wife, Keyshia Ka’oir, had to step in and defend him.

She wrote in a comment of her own, ‘Leave my husband alone. He signs these artists to help them and give them a better life.

‘I wish it wasn’t like this. ‘Chant, we love you baby girl. [RIP].’

While some people are convinced that Gucci’s label has been hexed, others were quick to shut that idea down.

‘There’s no curse,’ one person insisted. Another defended Gucci, writing, ‘How is it his fault she was addicted to [drugs]?’

‘He had nothing to do with her personal life y’all chill,’ someone else said.

‘He signs real street artists like him,’ a different user commented. ‘Can’t [make] nobody change, they gotta change their ways themselves.’

‘Yall blame 1017 but not what’s going on in peoples’ lives,’ another comment read. ‘Gucci has nothing to do with what happened or what’s going on.’

Rapper Yung Mal, who was previously signed to the record label, addressed rumors of a 1017 curse during an interview this week.

‘He just signs some real gangsters,’ he said. ‘It probably would have happened the same way [even if they weren’t signed to 1017] we just wouldn’t have known them. Think about it like that.’
