GREG James has revealed he had an incredibly awkward interview moment with a Hollywood actor, who is known for movies such as The Hangover.
The radio host, who has interviewed a myriad of stars across his career, declared the actor was “f***ing” things up as he struggled to squeeze any humour out of the interview.
Recalling the moment Bradley Cooper and his The Hangover co-stars came to Radio 1 in 2013 to promote the series’ third movie, Greg said it was an underwhelming meet.
“I remember Bradley Cooper wasn’t particularly fun, and I was quite sad about that,” the host said on the Happy Hour podcast.
“It was for The Hangover: III and I think they had all checked out, taking this unbelievable amount of money and they were just on this treadmill.”
Continuing that, ironically, Bradley appeared to be hungover himself, Greg explained: “He had just won the Oscar for Silver Linings Playbook.
“And when he walked in I said, ‘Bradley I just want to say I do love The Hangover but I love Silver Linings Playbook. Congratulations on the Oscar and stuff.’
“And he was just, like, I think we was just hungover, genuinely. They were just not up for anything fun.”
Despite his disappointment, Greg admitted that Bradley was the one ruining it for himself.
“I do sort of sit there and go, sometimes I think, this is hard work. I don’t care if your film does well, that’s on you. Your f***ing this. I don’t care about your s**t film.”
“You’ve just been paid £2M to talk about this film, talk about it!”
The interview, which is now 12 years old, also featured Ed Helms & Zach Galifianakis.
In it, Greg attempted to inject some fun into the conversation by asking the stars to sing with him, to which they obliged.
The interview was shared to YouTube, with commenters noticing the guest’s unenthusiastic nature.
“They really didn’t want to be there…,” wrote one fan.
Another said: “Bradley does not give a s**t!” and a third added: “Well that was awkward“.
