Kelsey Grammer is set to act opposite his daughter Greer Grammer for the first time in season two of his Paramount+ sitcom revival Frasier, which is currently in production.
The 32-year-old nepo-baby will portray Alice, the free-spirited daughter of Frasier’s former radio producer Roz Doyle (Peri Gilpin) who ‘moved to Providence to study architecture and is eager to catch up with his son Freddy (Jack Cutmore-Scott).’
‘[My fourth wife] Kayte and I were talking about how it’s really something that a child would follow in their father’s footsteps,’ the 69-year-old Emmy winner said in his Variety cover story.
‘To think that all my kids, at least the ones that have a hand in the air, are ready to take responsibility for their lives, are all drawn to this industry. And she said, “That’s something to be proud of.” It’s something I’ve never told them. I’m hoping they’re going to read [my upcoming memoir] and realize, “Oh, so Dad’s okay with this.”
‘Because I never wanted to push myself on them. I never wanted to force them into the industry or intrude too much into their process. Because it’s a bit of a mixed blessing to have my last name. People take it out on you. You get some attention maybe because of it. And there’s a split as to whether or not it’s good or bad.’

Kelsey – who co-starred with his daughter Spencer Grammer in Lifetime’s 2022 movie The 12 Days of Christmas Eve – said he’s happiest when all seven of his children are ‘all in the same room together.’
‘My work has allowed me to be able to do that,’ Grammer gushed.
‘I’ve been given this great experience. It’s been painful and challenging and hard and tragic — all those things. But boy, it’s a great life. And I want to pass that on to them.’
Greer (born Kandace) frequently visits the Paramount Studio Lot in Hollywood where Frasier films and she tooled around on one of their golf cart as recent as May 8th.
The Creating Christmas actress previously had substantial roles in the MTV series Awkward (2011-2016), ABC sitcom The Middle (2016-2017), and the 2021 Netflix film Deadly Illusions.
Greer – who holds a theater degree from USC – is the only child the Candide thespian welcomed with retired hair/make-up artist Barrie Buckner, whom he reportedly dated between 1991 and 1992.
Kelsey (born Allen) executive produces and reprises his role as Harvard psychology lecturer, Dr. Frasier Crane, in the upcoming 10-episode second season of Chris Harris and Joe Cristalli’s reboot on Paramount+.
In season two, Amy Sedaris will guest star as municipal therapist Dr. ‘Doc’ Stathos, who’s a ‘big fan of Frasier Crane from his old TV talk show.’
Frasier is a reboot of the NBC sitcom of the same name, which aired for 11 seasons spanning 1994-2004, and it all stemmed from the classic NBC sitcom Cheers, which aired for 11 seasons spanning 1982-1993.
