Her star-studded Cotswolds wedding resembled a scene from the hit TV drama Succession – especially when her media mogul grandfather Rupert Murdoch helicoptered in, clad in a striking white suit and red suede shoes.
Now, Charlotte Freud – whose parents are Rupert’s TV executive daughter Elisabeth and PR supremo Matthew Freud – has claimed that her marriage to rapper Luke Storey was essentially over in hours.
She told The Mail on Sunday: ‘We had been married for 12 hours when our whole world fell apart. He relapsed on the way to our honeymoon. It wasn’t a great sign.’
Charlotte, now 23, met Luke – a self-confessed recovering drug and alcohol addict – when she was just 18 and he was 33.
He encouraged Charlotte to join Narcotics Anonymous, helping to end her addiction to ketamine.

They wed at St Mary’s Church in Westwell, Oxfordshire in 2022, with her grandad Rupert flying in while he was in the throes of divorcing his fourth wife, Jerry Hall. Guests included actor Woody Harrelson and presenter Claudia Winkleman.
Charlotte said she soon realised that Luke was a ‘first husband kind of deal’, adding that theirs was a ‘s***show of a marriage’.
She said: ‘It felt like there were three people in the relationship – me and him and our recovery.
‘If our recovery was strong then we were strong, and if it wasn’t we were falling apart. We had a great relationship when we were sober, but neither of us could stay sober.
‘The wedding was so public and everyone thought our relationship was amazing.’
They divorced after just 14 months in September last year.
Charlotte now lives in Los Angeles with a new boyfriend and is preparing to launch a dating app for sober people called Club Pillar in the coming months.
She was inspired to become the face of the app after a brief spell using celebrity dating app Raya, saying: ‘It can be isolating to date as a sober person, particularly in the UK where the drinking culture is so prevalent.
‘I think the Club Pillar movement is a beautiful thing and I can’t wait to use the app.’
She has also written a children’s musical adaptation of Charlie Mackesy’s bestselling book The Boy, The Mole, The Fox And The Horse, which is on the curriculum at schools across the country.

She admitted that she is a fan of Succession, too, adding: ‘It’s totally accurate that it is based on my family. I loved watching it.’
She claimed that her mum inspired Sarah Snook’s character Shiv Roy, the power-hungry daughter of media baron Logan Roy, played by Brian Cox.
‘I think my mum is very Shiv, which she disagrees with,’ she said. ‘I f****** wish I’d had the Succession life. When I watch it, I say to my mum, “Where’s my helicopter?” It was the Tube for me.
‘I’ve probably spent more time with Logan Roy than I have with my actual grandfather. I see him at Christmas. We don’t hang out.’
