Grace Dent broke down in tears as she appeared on MasterChef: Battle Of The Critics special on Thursday night.
The food critic, 50, couldn’t hold back her emotions after judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace praised her food on the show.
It comes after Grace appeared in this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! but left on medical grounds after just a few days in camp.
She is a regular critic on the BBC’s MasterChef and so took part in the festive special where she made a butter chicken.
John told her that he ‘loved’ her curry, while Gregg added: ‘I could honestly just eat that by the ladle full. Well done you!’

A shocked Grace then became emotional and said thank you.
Gregg then reacted to her emotion as he said: ‘God, you’re speechless. I’ve never seen you like this before. You alright, kid?’
She replied holding back tears: ‘Oh don’t, honestly. In my head, I was going to say lots of witty things here and there was going to be lost of banter but I’m just sitting here with my lip wobbling.’
Before wiping her tears away Grace added: ‘I’m so sorry. I don’t know what’s up with me.’
She then told the cameras: ‘I didn’t realise how emotional I was about it all until they said they liked my food at the end.
‘It lifts all the pressure off you. I just felt lighter and giddy and certainly a little it proud of myself.’
She starred on the special alongside Leyla Kazim, William Sitwell, Jimi Famurewa and Jay Rayner – with Jay winning the show at the end.
It comes after her short-lived stint in the I’m A Celeb jungle.

Grace reportedly decided to leave the show after struggling to live with certain campmates.
She sensationally left the series after just eight days in the jungle ‘on medical grounds’.
In the Coming Out show Grace recalled her toughest moments and confessed: ‘Leaving my campmates and the girls will be the greatest regret of my life.’
Her key takeaways from the experience were: ‘Take risks, say yes, and the things that you think you can’t do, you can.’
Grace became the first contestant to quit the show this year amid mounting speculation about her ill appearance, with sources telling MailOnline being voted for another gruesome Bushtucker Trial ‘pushed her over the edge.’
In the final Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson, 31, was crowned King of the Jungle, beating heavyweight boxer Tony Bellew to the title.
The ITV final was watched by a peak audience of 7.6million and the series has reached over 25million viewers including across streaming platform ITVX.
