Gordon Ramsay Dines with Ex-Protege Marcus Wareing Amid Family Feud

Gordon Ramsay proved that he’s well and truly moved on from his feud with his former protege Marcus Wareing as they headed out to dinner together over the weekend.

The chef, 59, and his stylish wife Tana enjoyed a meal with Marcus, 55, and his wife Jane at Dorian restaurant in Notting Hill after ending their long-running argument earlier this year.

The Ramsay outing comes amid an ongoing bitter row with their daughter Holly’s in-laws ahead of her Christmas wedding to Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty.

Amid the Peaty family drama however, Gordon has been spending time with Marcus again.

For the dinner Gordon wore a smart grey jacket as he held hands with Tana, 51, who wore a chic all-black ensemble.

The pair famously clashed when they both worked at Gordon’s swanky London restaurant Aubergine.

They then spent more than 16 years with their knives out for each other in a very public, and ‘nasty’, feud.

However this February the pair buried the hatchet, reuniting for an amicable make-up dinner with both stars posting a photograph of them together in a mystery kitchen on social media.

Wareing said: ‘It’s been a long time coming’, while Ramsay wrote: ‘Dinner with friends.’

The rapprochement has stunned the restaurant world, given Wareing once said he hoped he would never have to speak to Ramsay ‘for the rest of my life’.

The chefs were once so close that Ramsay was best man at Wareing’s wedding in 2000 and is godfather to his eldest child.

They worked together for 15 years, with Wareing considered Ramsay’s protégé after working as sous chef at his Aubergine restaurant.

In 1999, they opened a joint venture, Pétrus, with Wareing as head chef. It earned two Michelin stars but was to be the undoing of their friendship.

In 2008, Wareing wanted to go solo and take over the lease at London’s Berkeley Hotel, sparking a legal fight. In the end, Ramsay kept the Pétrus name and Wareing opened his own place at The Berkeley.

Wareing once admitted: ‘It was me who started it. I picked a fight. I no longer wanted to be kept in a corner, so I spoke up. And, well, it got nasty.’

He retired from the restaurant game last year, but remains a judge on BBC’s MasterChef: The Professionals.

He previously detailed the spat during an interview with Weekend Magazine in 2011, explaining: ‘Gordon verbally kicked the s*** out of you. Then he would buy you a beer. He put me through mental torture.

‘I’d be first in in the morning, and I’d lock up at night. All day, there’d be Gordon being Gordon. It’s a wonder we all survived.’

The chef added that the pair came close to physical violence, adding: ‘B***dy close. Once, about six months before we finished, he came into the kitchen on a Saturday night. We had a conversation.’

More recently Marcus said their feud was ‘the best thing that ever happened to them.’

He admitted that his row with Gordon proved to be the making of them both, telling The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden it pushed him to find ‘another ambition’.

Meanwhile Gordon is currently embroiled in a bitter row with his daughter Holly’s in-laws.

Her upcoming wedding to the Olympian has been dramatically overshadowed by the toxic row, which has seen Adam disinvite all of his relatives, bar his sister Bethany, from the nuptials.

Sources claimed last Tuesday that cracks in family relations first began to show at Holly and Adam’s engagement party, which has reportedly been filmed to feature in her father Gordon’s Netflix docuseries.

Adam and Holly are set for a Christmas wedding spectacular, where they will exchange vows at Bath’s historic Abbey Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, before embarking on festive drinks.

However, Adam left jaws dropping earlier this month when it was revealed he had uninvited his relatives from his wedding, after his mother was not invited to Holly’s swanky hen do.

The astonishing family feud kicked off after news arose that Adam’s mother was not invited to Holly’s hen do, where she was joined by her mum Tana, Adam’s sister Bethany and Victoria Beckham at Soho Farmhouse.

In the wake of the snub, a number of stories of strife unraveled, with shock claims on each side about the fallout – including allegations that Holly and Adam made Caroline chose a different outfit for the wedding as they did not like her choice.

It’s now been reported that tensions between the two families began during Holly and Adam’s engagement party, which was filmed for Gordon’s upcoming Netflix documentary.

The celebrity chef was filmed over nine months as he opened five new restaurants in London, alongside juggling his personal life.

The engagement party, which took place last December, will see the Holly and Adam with his family during happier times, before their toxic fallout occurred and he disinvited all but one of his relatives from the wedding.

But according to The Sun, the cracks were already starting to show at the time, with Caroline having several grievances at the party.

A source told the publication: ‘Adam’s family were at the engagement party, when relations were much better. Things went downhill from there.

‘His mum was unhappy some of the family weren’t there and confronted Gordon at the event.

‘Guests were made to sign non-disclosure agreements and hand in phones as the party was filmed.’

Last week it was revealed Adam’s sister Bethany is the only member of his side who appears to have survived the bitter family fallout ahead of his wedding.

The hen do snub sparked a huge response from the Peaty family, with Adam’s aunt Louise blasting her nephew and his fiancée Holly in a series of Instagram comments.

She later claimed her sister Caroline wasn’t invited to their wedding due to her appearance and not having the correct ‘look’.

But one member of Adam’s side of the family appears to have survived the feud, his sister Bethany – who did make the cut for Holly’s picture perfect Cotswolds hen do.

The Sun has reported that the real reason Bethany made the cut is because she ‘fits in’ to the Ramsays’ glamorous world because ‘she’s blonde and pretty’.

While they claim that Bethany herself has had her head turned by the celebrity lifestyle, and has been asked to be one of Holly’s bridesmaids.

Adam recently broke his silence amid the toxic family rift by sharing a statement in which he also spoke on Bethany’s behalf, cementing their allegiance.

Taking to Instagram, he insisted there are ‘two sides to every story’ and that he, Holly and Bethany ‘will get through’ the ‘challenging times’.

He penned: ‘For those who know me personally, you know that I work so hard on trying to improve myself as a person who wants to contribute to making the world a better place.

‘I am continuing to learn about myself and how I can be the man I want to be; a worthy partner, father, businessman, friend and athlete; even through these challenging times.

‘Bethany [his sister], Holly and I will get through this – we do not ask for sympathy. We just need people to be aware that there are always two sides to every story.

‘To those of you who have reached out and shown kindness and understanding – thank you. It is deeply appreciated.’

Adam also explained that he, Holly and Bethany cannot go into detail due to ‘an ongoing police investigation into serious matters that arose long before recent events’.
