An air of discomfort may settle over Leonardo DiCaprio’s table at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday when the Golden Globe Awards take place there.
The seating chart was released earlier this week, leaving fans excitedly examining who has been assigned to spend the evening next to whom.
One table in particular seems certain to draw attention, with acting nominee DiCaprio seated next to best original song nominee Miley Cyrus.
Their side-by-side placement comes a decade after Cyrus publicly excoriated DiCaprio for neglecting to share his vape pen with her at a party.
She argued that ‘there’s an etiquette of: “You need to pass that s***, Leo,”‘ while telling the story on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2015.
Cyrus’ oral hygiene raised fans’ eyebrows the following year when she posted to Instagram that she had worn a friend’s retainer.

If DiCaprio hopes to avoid a conversation with Cyrus at the Golden Globes, he may be able to occupy himself with Marlon Wayans, who will be seated on his other side.
Cyrus took aim at DiCaprio in 2015 when she told a story about coming across him at a party for the 40th anniversary of Saturday Night Live.
‘I was like 20 feet, 15 feet from Leonardo DiCaprio sitting there with his mom,’ she explained, adding that the Titanic star was ‘hitting a vape pen’ at the time.
In her view, good manners dictated that he ‘pass that s***’ to her, but ‘he never did, so that was weird to me,’ she shared with Jimmy Fallon.Â
Fallon asked: ‘He was bogarting the vape?’ and she confirmed: ‘He wasn’t passing the vape,’ while impersonating DiCaprio with his eyes half-closed.
Cyrus has landed a Best Original Song nod at Sunday’s Golden Globes for Dream As One, the number she sang and co-wrote for Avatar: Fire and Ash.
Meanwhile DiCaprio is nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for his turn in One Battle After Another, a darkly satiric caper by Paul Thomas Anderson that centers on leftist militants.
The Golden Globes come a week after DiCaprio had to skip getting an award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, owing to travel restrictions that were enacted in response to the American airstrikes on Venezuela.

He was scheduled to receive the Desert Palm Achievement Award for One Battle After Another, which has emerged as one of the toasts of awards season.
However an insider told the Daily Mail it was announced at the ceremony that DiCaprio could not attend because of restricted airspace.
‘It was, however, a wonderful moment in the room,’ the source shared exclusively with the Daily Mail. ‘A beautiful tribute from his co-stars and an amazing reel.’
DiCaprio accepted the award via video and his speech was a ‘hit,’ the insider said, adding that he received applause both for the honor and for his remarks.
