Golden Bachelor Star, 67, Shows Off Ripped Body: ‘I Refuse to Fade’

The Golden Bachelor star Jan Herdman stunned fans on Thursday when she showed off her incredibly toned figure.

The transformation coach, 67, who has already emerged as a fan-favourite on the debut series, flaunted her ripped body while penning a column for news.com.au

Stripping down to a black one-piece bathing suit in one image, Jan flexed her insane muscles as she revealed she used to participate in bodybuilding competitions.

She revealed she entered her first show shortly after she got divorced at the age of forty, recalling she had moved in with a personal trainer.

‘She challenged me; not only to put down the glass of wine I was trying to hide in, but to “get up on stage in 12 weeks and show everyone what a 40-year-old can do”,’ Jan wrote.

The reality TV star said she won the competition, despite being the oldest contestant there, and admitted ‘everything changed’ for her.

‘Strength training didn’t just rebuild my body; it rebuilt my confidence and belief in what was possible. And what I could achieve,’ she said.

Jan now coaches women over 50 through similar transformations with her business, Ageless Transformations.

‘For decades, society has treated women over 50 as invisible. The message? “Age gracefully,” which I believe is code for “fade quietly”. But I refuse to fade,’ she wrote.

After just two episodes of The Golden Bachelor, Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden has had the ladies swooning with his chiselled good looks and calm demeanour.

Of the 19 women Bear, 61, met before the first cocktail party, it was Jan—the oldest contestant in the series—who seemed to strike an instant spark.

She kept things simple, arriving with a bottle of bubbles and a toast to ‘taking risks’ and Bear was instantly smitten.

‘I couldn’t take my eyes off her,’ he confessed to the camera. ‘Jan is something very special. I think we fit each other quite well.’

Bear and Jan bonded again in an intimate one-on-one chat during the cocktail party, in which she revealed her heartache at never having children.

‘My ex couldn’t have kids, so by the time we divorced, I was 40 and that option was kind of out the window,’ she told Bear.

Breaking down in tears as she confessed to the camera, Jan added: ‘It took me a long time to get over that, and realise that I wasn’t going to be that mother.’

Host Samantha Armytage later returned to the party to throw a spanner in the works—a single red rose.

She revealed it was the First Impression rose, which Bear was to give to the woman who stood head and shoulders above the rest.

It didn’t take Bear too long to decide, giving the rose to Jan.

Then it was time for the inaugural Golden Bachelor rose ceremony, and, with 16 roses up for grabs, three women were on the verge of being sent home.

Jane, 60, Shana, 60, and Angela, 52, were the unlucky ladies who were sent packing after failing to make an impression on Bear.
