Gloria Estefan shocked Alan Carr and his viewers after she ‘joined the mile high club’ with her husband Emilio after a champagne-fuelled wedding night.
The Cuban-American singer, 68, joined host Alan, 49, on his podcast Life’s A Beach for a very candid chat on her long-time career and her brand new album Raices.
As the term ‘mile high club’ refers to those who have had sex while flying in a plane thousands of feet in the air, the eight-time Grammy winner admitted it happened as they flew off to their honeymoon trip.
Recalling her 1978 nuptials, Gloria explained they had a small wedding ceremony without a reception due to Gloria’s father being ill at the time.
‘There were three of our friends that were in couples – they threw us a surprise reception at our house because we weren’t going to have one,’ she told Alan.
‘We were staying at the hotel because we were leaving for Japan the next day.

‘So we left at five in the afternoon, we go to the hotel, there’s a knock on the door, I look through the hole, ‘Oh champagne for the newlyweds’.
‘I opened the door and there’s three couple friends of ours and they sat in the room and would not leave.
The hitmaker continued the anecdote adding: ‘Finally at 3am we go ‘let’s go eat something because this is getting ridiculous here’.
‘We went to eat and by the time we came back we had to go to the airport.
‘So it was a flight to Japan – just saying,’ she finished giggling before the presenter hilariously hammered her for giving out ‘too much information’.
It comes after after the longtime girlfriend of Gloria’s daughter has been arrested for domestic violence after allegedly getting into a fight over a cellphone.
According to an arrest affidavit from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Department that was obtained by the Daily Mail, Emily Estefan’s partner Gemeny Hernandez was arrested last week on Tuesday and charged with two counts of felony strong-arm robbery and one count of misdemeanor battery.

Although Emily wasn’t mentioned by name in the report, it states that Gemeny and her alleged victim were ‘domestic partners for approximately 8 years and reside together.’
According to the website for their podcast In Our Own World, the pair have been dating since 2016, and last year they noted on Instagram that they were close to celebrating eight years together.
The Daily Mail has yet to receive a response after contacting representatives for Gloria and Emily Estefan and Gemeny Hernandez.
According to the arrest affidavit, the unnamed victim said via a sworn statement that Gemeny ‘forcefully took her cellphone from her hand and struck the victim’ with it.
