Glee star Becca Tobin is calling out Hilary Duff’s husband over the Ashley Tisdale French ‘toxic mom group’ drama – just days after he poked fun at the star’s New York Magazine essay.
In early January, former Disney channel star Tisdale kicked off the year by penning an emotional essay for New York Magazine’s The Cut, titled, ‘Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group I thought I found my village. Instead, I was back in high school.’
The story detailed how she felt left out by the group and eventually left their chat, telling them it was all too ‘high school’ for her.
Tisdale has not disclosed who was part of the mom group, although online observers noted that she recently unfollowed fellow Disney star Hilary Duff and singer Mandy Moore on Instagram.
In the past, she had been seen in Instagram posts posing with the two stars, as well as some other famous moms, including singer Meghan Trainor, who denied being a part of it all.
But last week, Duff’s husband, Matthew Koma, seemed to confirm the rumors, as he posted a photo with a mock headline that read ‘When You’re the Most Self Obsessed Tone Deaf Person on Earth, Other Moms Tend to Shift Focus to Their Actual Toddlers.’Â
In the snap, he was posing the same way that Tisdale did for the essay – sitting with his legs crossed on a white couch, wearing an all-black ensemble.
While the internet has been divided and taking sides about who is in the right and who is in wrong, Tobin definitely is not siding with Koma or Duff.

‘I don’t think there’s any loser,’ Tobin said as she discussed the article on her Lady Gang podcast this week with co-hosts Keltie Knight and Jack Vanek.
‘There’s no loser in this group to me, not one, except for Hilary Duff’s husband,’ Tobin continued.Â
Tobin went so far as to call the whole thing ‘gross.’
‘I think it is so gross when husbands jump in and get petty, especially since Ashley did not name names,’ Tobin said.
‘If Ashley had come out and said Hilary was said person being a mean girl, I would understand the husband coming to her defense, but I really am rubbed the wrong way when a man inserts himself like this, and it’s solely for him to get attention.’
The women then joked that the aforementioned drama was very reminiscent of the fights that happen on Hulu’s hit show, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
‘He attacked a woman,’ Tobin continued of Koma.
‘He called her self-obsessed or whatever. He said something about her being self-absorbed. And I think that’s so tacky,’ she said.

Tobin admitted that she would be upset with her husband if he had done something similar.
‘It’s like she goes low, and then he goes lower,’ the actress explained.Â
‘And I think it’s actually really gross when a man comments on something like this. And it’s offensive. It’s offensive for what he said about her. I don’t like it at all.’
Meanwhile, Tisdale’s husband, French, – who has been married to the star since 2014 and shares two kids with her – has seemingly decided to take the high road this time, sharing a post this week that read: ‘Underrated life skill: Pausing to decide if it’s worth your energy.’Â
