Gisele Bundchen proved that the life of the supermodel isn’t always glamorous – revealing a harrowing and even life-threatening incident from 25 years earlier.
The 43-year-old supermodel and mother of two appeared on The Tonight Show to promote her new cookbook Nourish: Simple Recipes to Empower Your Body and Feed Your Soul, which will be published next week.
Before her interview, though, she played a game with host Jimmy Fallon and fellow guest Wayne Brady called True Confessions, where she dropped a bombshell.
She was given two envelopes – one featuring a lie about herself and one featuring something true, with both Fallon and Brady trying to determine which it is.
Bundchen picked the second envelope and read, ‘I did a photo shoot on a fake iceberg in Iceland, and I almost fell off into the ocean,’ which Fallon and Brady both guessed was false… but was actually true, for the fragrance Oxygene.

She was then asked what year the incident took place, and she said either 1997 or 1999, as Jimmy wondered if Iceland was ‘ironically named’ since she was on a fake iceberg.
She added she almost fell into the frigid water and said she, ‘would have been dead in seconds’ if she fell, and while they both thought she lied, she was telling the truth.
‘It was for this fragrance called Oxygene. You got to Google it. You can see it actually. It’s on the internet. It’s called Oxygene was the name of the fragrance,’ she said, though the campaign actually took place in 2000.
‘So the whole thing I was supposed to be in this slip dress while everyone was like in a boat — like, all the crew was in a boat with like huge puffer jackets and life vests,’ she said.
Fallon also told a story about how he was hit by a car the night before hosting the MTV Movie Awards, and while both Bundchen and Brady thought it was fake, it was actually true.
Brady also told a story about the time he worked at a birthday party as the Black Power Ranger, but he wasn’t paid so he stole the kid’s birthday cake, which was true as well.
After the game, Bundchen sat down with Fallon, who asked the supermodel why she wanted to write a cookbook.
‘You know, I love food. Yes, I really enjoy food. And I had all the playdates were always at my house. So, all the kids, you know, the moms would come back and be like, “How did you get my kid to eat vegetable?”‘ Bunchen began.

‘I’m like “It’s so easy, just, like, roast them.” She’s like, “How do you do that?” I start sharing recipes with moms and, you know, I have five sisters, so we always share recipes as well,’ Bundchen added.
‘And then one time my sister said, like, “Why don’t you just make a book? And then I’m like, “Oh, yeah.” And I love to share. I’m a cancer, so I’m a big sharer,’ she said.
‘Anything that’s good for me, that feels good, I want everyone to know and everyone to have it,’ she continued.
‘So that’s kind of like my way of sharing nutritious, delicious, simple stuff, because I’m not a chef. I just want to eat good stuff,’ she said.
She added the, ‘big thing’ about the book is ‘meal planning, ‘Because I think a lot of stuff that happens with moms, they get overwhelmed because they get home, and it’s like, “I’m starving, my kids are screaming,” you know?’
‘You’re just like, “I want peace, please stop,” you know? So the thing is, if you have meal planning, it’s amazing. My mom had six kids. She was a cashier in the bank. And she fed all of us, like, great food all the time because she prepped,’ she said.
Bundchen added her mother would prep all the meals for the week ahead every weekend and would, ‘have a whole schedule for it.’
She added, ‘And we didn’t have any food waste, because whatever it was, like, for example, we had churrasco on Sunday, which is like a barbecue Brazilian style. And then we would have arroz con carreteiro, which is like rice with meat on Mondays. So, there was never any food waste, and we always had food, because if you’re prepping, you can have things planned ahead of time, so when you come home, you can make a meal in like, ten minutes.’
