Just under a week after a judge denied Disney’s motion to dismiss her discrimination lawsuit, potential witnesses have been revealed for Gina Carano’s trial.
The 42-year-old actress played Cara Dune in the first two seasons of the beloved Star Wars series The Mandalorian, before she was suddenly fired.
Disney swiftly fired Carano in February 2021 after she shared a controversial social media post that compared Republicans with Jews in Nazi Germany.
She was also dropped by her agency, ICM, and an episode of her on Running Wild with Bear Grylls was ultimately dropped.
The actress filed the lawsuit in February 2024, and now that it’s moving forward, The Hollywood Reporter reveals The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal, creator Jon Favreau, LucasFilm’s Kathleen Kennedy and Bear Grylls.

The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau may be called to testify in Gina Carano’s discrimination trial
Others who could be called include former Disney CEO Bob Chapek and Lynne Hale, who was behind the show’s publicity campaign.
The trial is tentatively scheduled to start on September 25, 2025, with one of the issues expected to be raised being whether or not Carano was actually under contract with Disney when she was fired on February 10, 2021.
Another critical issue will be how Carano was fired for her personal beliefs while Disney ignored similar posts by her male co-stars.
She points to a post from Pascal back in 2017 where she compared President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler.
Another post from Pascal listed in the lawsuit compared the United States’ response to people entering the country illegally to Nazi concentration camps.
It is believed that Favreau will be called to testify about The Mandalorian spin-off Rangers of the New Republic, that was slated to feature her Cara Dune as a lead.
The project was first announced back in December 2020, though nothing has been announced for it since.
It’s also possible that Grylls will be called to testify about the episode he filmed with Carano being pulled from the Disney Plus streaming service.

U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett rejected arguments that Carano’s discrimination claims are barred by the First Amendment.
Disney argued they are entitled to protect its speech in the show itself from the association of its stars, who may have views that viewers find offensive.
