Gigi Hadid revealed she auditioned for the lead role of Rapunzel in Disney’s live-action Tangled remake.
The supermodel, 30 — who’s been trying to pivot into acting in recent years — shared that she even took singing lessons to prepare for the audition, in a new interview with Vogue.
‘I was really proud of my scene,’ the star — who’s reportedly been inspired to act by boyfriend Bradley Cooper, 50 — shared, though she did not land the role.
‘The singing…I knew they were going to go with a real singer, but I’ll show you my audition scene later,’ she added while speaking with Kendall Jenner, who was on this month’s cover with her.
The beauty is eyeing a more serious shift to acting after years of minor voice roles and cameos, like in Ocean’s 8.
Unfortunately for the star, Tangled was put on indefinite hold after Disney’s 2025 live-action Snow White flopped in theaters.

The 2010 film of which the new version is based on, Tangled featured the voices of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi and told the story of Rapunzel but with a comedic twist.
The live-action Disney film had been in active development and had Michael Gracey attached to direct along with a script written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.
News of the reported hiatus comes after the live-action remake of Snow White suffered at the box office and and faced criticism of being ‘woke.’
Additionally, The Hollywood Reporter noted that several individuals behind Disney’s recent push for live-action remakes had stepped away from their executive roles.
Star Rachel Zegler, 23, has taken the brunt of the blame for the film underperforming its massive budget – grossing just $87million domestically – and becoming one of the least liked films of all time on film review sites.
She’s also been dinged for her political opinions and was harshly criticized by the son of the producer of the movie for tweeting ‘free Palestine.’
Meanwhile Gigi can certainly draw inspiration from her boyfriend’s career. The Oscar-nominated actor has starred in critically acclaimed films like Maestro (2023), A Star Is Born (2018), American Sniper (2014), and the Silver Linings Playbook (2012).
Gigi and Bradley were first romantically linked in 2023. They have been dating for close to two years.

Elsewhere in the October issue of Vogue, Gigi and Kendall opened up about the bond that’s carried them through the highs and lows of their modeling careers, rise to fame and life.
Hadid even shared a tender moment from 2020, when she was newly pregnant and quietly confided in Jenner during a hectic backstage at Burberry.
‘You were one of the only people in the world that knew,’ Hadid said, explaining that Jenner was the one she turned to when she felt faint and needed a quick boost.
‘Kenny was the only person I could look at from across the room and just be like, “Oh yeah, a soda.” And she got me a little can of Coke.’
That small gesture, Hadid noted, reflects the quiet trust between them that goes beyond the runway and magazine covers.
The two trace their closeness back to their teens, bunking together on early modeling trips.
‘I was your biggest fan,’ Kendall gushed. ‘And once we started to work together and do shows, I remember those early seasons—we would do the whole month together.’
Hadid added that she’ll never forget her first Chanel fitting in 2014, when Jenner helped calm her nerves before meeting Karl Lagerfeld in Paris.

‘We did have a double date situation once,’ Jenner pointed out. ‘Remember, a long time ago? We don’t need to go there.’
After Hadid admitted she forgot about that, Jenner attempted to jog her memory.
‘It’ll come to you. It wasn’t a double date. You tried to set me up. You were in a relationship and I was single and you were trying to set me up with someone to be part of your gang?’ she reminded her pal. ‘Do you not remember? Are you not picking up what I’m putting down? I’m not going any further. I’ll tell you later!’
Though she’s had minor voice roles and cameos, Hadid is still best known for her work on the runway.
Her career took off after she signed with IMG Models in 2013. By 2015, she was named a brand ambassador for Maybelline and made her first appearance in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
The blonde beauty has appeared on over 35 international Vogue covers and walked for major fashion houses like Chanel, Versace, and Marc Jacobs.
