A teaser trailer for the upcoming comedy series The Curse was released on Wednesday.
In the clip, Emma Stone and Nathan Fielder portray a couple who collaborate on a disturbingly repetitive television program during a trip to New Mexico.
The promotional video for the The Curse, which recently released first-look photos, begins with Whitney and Asher Siegel, portrayed by the show’s leads, standing next to one another while working on their HGTV show.
Whitney, portrayed by Stone, begins an introduction to a segment by asking her husband, ‘did you know you could put out fires with the sun?’
Asher, played by Fielder, responds with a deadpan ‘no way,’ after which Whitney continues by explaining that they had made a trip to Espanola, New Mexico, in order to work with the local fire department.

She states that the two planned on showing the town’s firefighters ‘how a few tiny changes to their station can make passive energy the newest recruit by their squad.’
After an awkward pause, Whitney asks the show’s crew if the take was usable, to which an offscreen director responds: ‘One more!’
The trailer ends after Stone’s character restarts her segment introduction, upon which the visuals warp into the show’s title card.
Development on The Curse was initially revealed to the public in February of 2020, when Deadline reported that Fielder had signed on to appear in the project.
The 40-year-old actor collaborated on the series with Benny and Josh Safdie, the former of whom is set to appear in the program.
The comedian and the 37-year-old filmmaker co-wrote the show’s screenplays and served as the pilot’s executive producers.
The show is centered on the Siegels, whose personal and professional relationships are altered when they run afoul of an alleged curse during the production of their controversial series, Flipanthropy, while trying to welcome a child.
In addition to the program’s leads, performers such as Constance Shulman, Corbin Bernsen and Barkhad Abdi round out its cast.
