Georgia Toffolo, 29, expresses love and admiration for boyfriend James Watt, 40, following his resignation as BrewDog CEO: ‘Today, I am prouder of you than ever before’

Georgia Toffolo couldn’t contain her pride as she took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a sweet message to her boyfriend after he stepped down as CEO of BrewDog.

James Watt announced he was leaving the top job after 17 years after his tenure was marred by a string of controversies including a ‘toxic’ workplace culture row.

The businessman, 40, will hand over the reins to chief operating officer James Arrow, but will remain with the group as a non-executive director on the board and continue to advise them on strategy.

Sharing her support for her boyfriend, the former Made In Chelsea star, 29, posted a candid snap of the pair as she wrote: ‘I’m more proud of you today than I have ever been’.

Gushing over his incredible character, she began: ‘After 17 years as CEO of BrewDog, James let the world know today that he will be transitioning into a new role.

‘I was reading James’ letter to his team and he wrote ‘For almost 2 decades, pretty much every second of my waking existence has been focused on this amazing business’ truer words have never been spoken.

‘I’ve been lucky to have met many extraordinary people, but no one like you before. Your dedication and work ethic are beyond my comprehension and it isn’t a fluke that you’ve created the most epic thing.’

Joking that BrewDog most definitely hasn’t seen the last of the couple she added: ‘Thankfully, we both know that 99% of our future date nights will still be at a BrewDog bar, precisely how we like it. Too much change at once is never good!’

Discussing James’ committed work ethic she continued: ‘This isn’t my favourite photo of me (those are the best, though), but it perfectly sums you up as the forever Captain of the BrewDog ship.

‘It was 8 pm on New Year’s Eve. You’d been working most of Christmas and all day when I drove into BrewDog H.Q. to remind you that we had friends and family arriving soon for a celebration downstairs at DogTap.

‘I’m so happy I documented this special moment, as you were in your happy place doing what you’re so good at—building one of the best brands in the world.’

She concluded: ‘I’m more proud of you today than I have ever been. I’m holding on tight for the next adventure, I get to have a front-row seat for whatever madness you create next.

‘Love you forever. xx P.S. Does this mean I can book a holiday? @brewdogjames’.

James will take on the newly created non-executive role of ‘captain and co-founder’ and retains his 21 per cent shareholding in the firm.

In a Linkedin post, he said: ‘After 17 fantastic years as chief executive, I have decided to transition into a new role in the business, one of ‘captain and co-Founder’ – and James Arrow will pick up the reins as chief executive as our business pushes forward into our next phase of growth.

‘In my new role I will remain as a board member, a director and I will also be part time strategic adviser to the business and our to leadership team.’

Georgia and James first got together over the summer after being set up on a blind date by a friend.

In an interview with MailOnline last December, Georgia revealed that what followed was ‘sneaking around’ – before the pair went public with a series of loved-up posts.

Despite only being together for a few months at the time, the former I’m A Celebrity winner said they want to ‘spend every second together’ and hopes that they are in it for the long haul.

Toff said: ‘I would love him to be the one but hey, so far so good. I don’t know. It is still very early days. But we’re really happy.’

Georgia went on to reveal how she and the millionaire manage to make their relationship work despite their constantly conflicting schedules.

She continued: ‘I can’t even say it’s been hard to be honest because really, we bend over backwards to make it happen.

‘We’re good at prioritising. It’s a lot of give and take, like Saturday was very much about James and then he really supported me yesterday.

‘So I think it’s just about good communication. It wouldn’t work for me being with someone that didn’t get it and vice versa.

‘I feel really lucky that I get the buzz from what he does because he’s so brilliant. So at the moment we’re pulling it off. I hope we can continue!

‘We’re both pretty relaxed about it and weaving our lives and our relationship, making sure that we’re spinning all the plates. But we’re also topping up the work pot as well, which we’re constantly doing.’
