George Clooney celebrated his 63rd birthday by shooting hoops with co-star Adam Sandler while in between takes of their new Netflix movie in Italy on Monday.
The two-time Oscar winner beamed with delight playing basketball with the 57-year-old comedian, whom he originally met in 1995 while hosting NBC’s Saturday Night Live for the first time.
Adam – who was an SNL cast member from 1990-1995 – gained a slight advantage by wearing a blue dribbling glove on his left hand.
George – who relies on stylist Jeanne Yang – wore a black polo shirt with baggy blue jeans during their one-on-one game.
Sandler – who’s known for his slob-rity athleisure attire – sported a baggy yellow polo shirt with blue Lacrosse-brand basketball shorts and sneakers.

In 2018, the Spaceman actor visited Clooney’s luxurious 25-room villa in Lake Como while on location filming his Netflix rom-com Murder Mystery.
‘Him and his wife [Amal] and all these nice people were there. And they invited Jen [Aniston] and me. I know George back in the day, too,’ Adam revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2019.
‘So we went there and, you take a boat to get on a boat. You cruise down. Went over to their house. They made us homemade pizza. And it was an amazing time. I sat next to [U2 frontman] Bono. It was a good day.’
Sandler and The Boys in the Boat director have never worked together before three-time Oscar nominee Noah Baumbach’s untitled film, which is called Jay Kelly – according to World of Reel.
Plot details are still secret, but Deadline previously reported the movie was ‘a funny and emotional coming-of-age film about adults.’
The Mark Twain Prize winner famously signed a lucrative $250M deal with Netflix in 2014, and the 54-year-old Barbie producer-writer signed his own exclusive deal with the streaming giant in 2021.
Noah – who co-wrote Jay Kelly with Emily Mortimer – previously directed Adam in his critically-acclaimed 2017 Netflix dramedy The Meyerowitz Stories.
Baumbach also cast his second wife Greta Gerwig as well as Mortimer, Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Riley Keough, Jim Broadbent, Isla Fisher, Josh Hamilton, Stacy Keach, and Patrick Wilson.
