Gene Gallagher has revealed he doesn’t think an Oasis reunion could ever ‘work’, after it was rumoured the famous band could get back together.
The musician, 23, is the son of Liam Gallagher, 51, and the nephew of Noel Gallagher, 57, but the brothers have not spoken in years amid a massive feud.
The Wonderwall hitmakers – which were also made up of Paul Arthurs, Paul McGuigan and Tony McCarroll – split in 2009 following a backstage bust-up between the brothers.
Gene – whose mother is All Saints singer Nicole Appleton – is a member of unsigned band Villanelle and they supported Noel on tour, and often jokes with his sister Anais about the idea of their dad reuniting with his old band.
He told The Sunday Times: ‘We have jokes about it but we don’t go at it. She knows what her dad’s like and I know what my dad’s like. Hey, we’re a big happy family everyone.
‘It’s nothing to do with us. They’re both [Liam and Noel] way too smart for that, it would never work.’

Despite lacking a record label just yet, Gene has high hopes for Villanelle, which is also made up of Ben Taylor on guitar, Jack Schiavo on bass and Andrew Richmond on drums.
The band only formed earlier this year and supported Liam on his tour but the young rock star insisted that he is not a nepo baby.’
He said: ‘People say to me: ‘Ooh it must be so easy for you to get a band together.’ It’s not. We’re earning our stripes.’
The Hinge rockers jumped at the chance to get on stage and Gene recalled turning up in a ‘massive tour bus’ that he said was ‘even bigger than s venue itself.
Gene has been writing songs for a number of years and also recalled his famous father encouraging him to get in on the music scene – but on the condition that he was good.
He noted that he was only given the change to open for his dad earlier this year if he was good after being warned that he would only ‘cringe’ if his performance was not up to scratch.

The two brothers reportedly planned to reunite at the London stadium on July 8, 9 and 10 in a bid to mend their very public feud
It was heavily rumoured earlier this year that Oasis would be getting back together and had even ‘secretly’ booked three dates at Wembley Arena.
But Liam confirmed that he knew nothing about these rumoured plans as he explained to a fan he was unaware of the arrangement.
Taking to Twitter, one fan asked: ‘Liam is Oasis reunion next year actually happening?’
The musician then joked: ‘Nobody’s told me maybe there getting a new singer like the dude out of queen’.
