'Probably doing the best she can, and I'm doing the best I can. And the kids are growing up, so I'm a proud proponent of the system. It's fine,' he said.

The musician said his biggest priority is to not raise 'jerks.'

'Making them likable. I think that if you've got kids that are unlikable, they've got a tough life ahead, you know,' said the artist.

'Life is hard enough without being a jerk, without being kind of aware of other people, mindful of other people, considerate of other people, empathetic,' he began.

And Rossdale hopes to set a good example, he added.

'And so all those things that I try to do my best in my life to be… Just try to show by example with my kids, consistent friends, consistent people around, and a sort of a steady approach to life,' he said.

'I feel connected to the pressure that young people have in terms of what to do. And if you go to college, what the hell are you gonna do in college, and then how are you going to pay off your student loans, and how are you going to go into the workplace?

'And it just seems very, very hard for people. Very, very hard. And I'm not sure if it's getting easier,' he said.

'I think it just comes down to playing well, being enthusiastic, and having a good energy. And if you bring good energy, there's no reason why people can't respond,' he stated.

This comes weeks after Stefani said she turned to Christianity after welcoming her third child at age 44, an experience she called her 'first miracle.'

The Don't Speak hitmaker recalled having deep conversations with a former 'atheist Jew' who converted to Judaism, and those chats started 'waking [her] up.'

Speaking to Hallow: Prayer and Meditation on YouTube, she said: 'He was studying the Torah, and he had this big epiphany awakening, and he start[ed] talking to me about the Torah.

'I was desperate at this point during all this. I really wanted to have another baby. I really did. I couldn't, and I was old.'

In 2013, her son Kingston, now 19, asked her for another sibling when he was around eight years old, and she used to hear him praying for her to conceive.

The No Doubt singer told him: 'I'm sorry, your mommy is too old to have a baby.'

She recalled: 'It was like, four weeks later, and I was pregnant with Apollo. I had him at 44 years old, naturally.'

Stefani described becoming a mother for a third time as a 'full-on gift' and 'the first miracle.'

She felt under pressure at the time because she didn't think she understood Christianity enough.

She added: 'It's almost scary because the more you know, the more fear you get. You realize, "Oh my gosh, I'm running out of time and I need to get this together. I've got to be a real Christian! I'm not gonna make it."'
