A UK September beach wedding is high risk regarding weather.
And while the sun was shining for Becky Hill, her guests – including Gareth Gates and his West End star girlfriend Allana Taylor – were at odds with the wet sand and rocky floor in Falmouth, Cornwall last week.
The Pop Idol star, 41, wrapped his trendy loafers in a duo of carrier bags from Co-op, in a bid to keep them dry and clean before removing the bags once off the beach.
Allana meanwhile shunned high heels or sleek sling-backs for the trip – instead wearing wholly unglamorous wool felt Birkenstock clogs.
Becky, who was marrying her partner of 10 years Charlie Gardner, was forced to lose her shoes and was assisted on the rocky floor by her parents.

Gareth kept his plastic protectors on during the ceremony however once the group departed the beach, he posed with Charlie with his beige loafers on show.
Allana’s footwear was equally bizarre as she wore the comfy shoes alongside a sizzling dress with a deeply plunging neckline.
While Becky posed for pictures on the rocks, she removed her shoes which were placed in front of Charlie while posing on the rocks.
Becky threw her bouquet in the air while her colourfully-clad guests were seen vying for the flowers for the classic tradition.
The nuptials occurred in front of the swanky Meudon Hotel, nearly four years after she revealed he had popped the question while on holiday in the Maldives.

The couple have been together for 10 years and while Becky has enjoyed huge chart success, Charlie, who works in the events industry, has stayed out of the spotlight.
Her engagement came after Becky spoke to Daily Mail and admitted she finds going abroad ‘especially difficult’ due to archaic attitudes towards her ‘queerness’.
Gareth and Allana went Instagram official in July 2023, after his split from ex Chloe McLennan. The couple met in 2022 when they appeared in Jack and the Beanstalk.
