Gabrielle Union’s recent red carpet appearance sparked speculation among fans on whether the star has altered her face.
The actress, 51, attended the star-studded Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday evening.
The Bring It On star wowed in a purple sequined Elie Saab gown and was joined by her husband, former professional basketball player Dwyane Wade, 42.
And though her dress was a standout, it was her noticeably defined cheekbones that raised eyebrows among fans.
‘Why would she do this to her face? I am devastated,’ one wrote on an Instagram post from Fashion Bomb Daily that showed off Gabrielle’s look.

‘What. Happened. To. Her. Face,’ someone else questioned.
‘Needs to take the fillers out,’ another chimed in.
‘Why did she mess with her face,’ yet another commentator wrote, while someone else added, ‘I hate those fillers. She was aging beautifully.’
‘I am distracted by the face work!’
‘The first thing I noticed was the area around her mouth. What happened?’
Many fans argued over whether the look was simply the result of strong makeup contour.
‘I hope that a really sharp cheek contour and not buccal fat removal.’
‘Please be the makeup.’
‘This contour is crazy. MUA wrong for this…’
‘I think that’s a sharp contour and pointy at the mouth corners. Why, I’m not sure.’

In June, the actress spoke about the pressures of aging in Hollywood in a Harper’s Bazaar interview.
‘I’m the last person to be judging anybody for what they do for their bodies, and how they live their lives,’ she said when asked about plastic surgery and injectables.
‘Again, if you like it, I love it. I used to be more judgy, and then it’s like, Who gives a s**t?’
‘I think it’s also about educating yourself more on finding people who have the aesthetic that you’re looking for. I used to want to look like other people when I was young, but now I want to look like myself.’
When asked if she had ever undergone cosmetic surgery, the actress explained that she favors a more natural look.
‘For myself, I’ve tried all kinds of s**t. Some things don’t work — like, my body absorbs Botox like Skittles, so that’s not really an option for me, because it doesn’t last.’
‘What I love more than anything are PRP facials, when they extract your blood and then put it back into your skin,’ she said.
‘Today, I’m like, “What else do I need?” because it seems like every day there’s a new thing. But it really is each individual’s personal choice.’

She also attributed her youthful appearance to ‘PRP facials’, a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that uses a patient’s own blood to stimulate collagen production
‘However you feel best, you should go for that,’ she added.
As for growing older, she revealed that with age she has been less concerned about what people think.
‘For me, I don’t give a s**t — I just don’t! I don’t give a s**t. It started in my 40s, where you have your basket of f***s and you slowly start to empty them.’
‘In your mind, it feels like the world is going to end if you don’t care deeply about what everyone thinks about every single thing. And then, you realize the world keeps on ticking.’
