He has been British flat racing Champion Jockey three times and has ridden the winners of 287 Group 1 races including 23 winners of the British Classic Races.
And on Wednesday, his campmates were keen to quiz him over his illustrious career.

The sporting legend, 52, shocked This Morning’s Josie Gibson with how much he earns
This Morning’s Josie Gibson could not hold back her curiosity and asked: ‘Who pays you then Franks to ride the horses?’
Frankie said: ‘The body.’
Josie confirmed: ‘Oh, the jockey club. So if you win, or come first, second or third…’
But Frankie confirmed that only the first four racers receive prize money
Josie was left baffled, replying: ‘What? So you could go to a race and not get paid?’
Frankie explained: ‘We get £160 to ride the horse. But if we have a million pound race, I get £100,000 – I get 10 per cent, around there.
‘You’ve got to win the big races to make a good living. To get the big races you need a good horse. And to get a good horse, you’ve got to work for a big stable, it’s how it works.’
According to Great British Racing, jockeys are paid a flat rate no matter where they are in their career.

However around ten per cent of the riding fee then goes to their agent, while a valet also takes a slice alongside charges for insurance.
The majority of the prize money goes to the horse’s owner – but jockeys usually receive around 10 per cent.
In an average race, around half of the prize pot will go to the winner, a quarter to second place – and is halved again for third and fourth place respectively.
Frankie also spoke to his campmates about the nerves he faces while riding, saying: ‘I can control it now, I love it. It’s horrible, but it’s great.’
Frankie’s greatest accomplishment was riding all seven winners on British Festival of Racing Day at Ascot on 28 September 1996.
Frankie has enjoyed a glorious 2023, winning a raft of major prizes and showing why he has been one of the greatest riders we have ever seen – his effort on Mostahdaf in the Juddmonte International at York was a contender for the best ride of the flat season.
He announced his retirement in December 2022 but in October announced he would be returning to California and continuing to race in the US, saying it was ‘too hard to walk away from winning’.
Frankie also spoke about some of the rules for jockeys including: ‘If you’re one pound lighter you’re disqualified.’
Sam asked: ‘Why are you not allowed to be heavier?’
Frankie explained: ‘Because you’re cheating the public. The public bet on you and expect the horse to carry the weight.’
Of winning at Ascot Frankie said: ‘[1996] I’m the first one to win seven straight. There were only seven, I won them all. Seven races, I won the lot.’
Sam said: ‘He’s the best jockey that’s ever lived!’
Jamie Lynn said: ‘It’s a sweep, right?’
Frankie said: ‘They even put a statue – I have two statues now.’
Jamie Lynn enthused: ‘Oh my god, he’s the coolest person here.’
