Frank Catania has set the record straight on his comments about Teresa Giudice being asked by Bravo not to return to The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
Filming for the new season is on hold since it has yet to be determined who will be returning for season 15 or if the show will be getting a reboot.
But Dolores Catania’s ex Frank claimed he ‘heard’ Teresa was ‘asked to leave, as opposed to being fired.’
Speaking to DailyMail.com exclusively at An Evening of Comedy Starring Joe Gorga last week, Frank clarified the incendiary comments he made on The Lisa Alastuey Podcast.
‘I did not say Teresa was asked to leave. In that interview, what I said is we have heard nothing whatsoever from Bravo. What I did say is they would never fire her.

Frank previously claimed he ‘heard’ Teresa was ‘asked to leave, as opposed to being fired’
‘They would ask her to leave because they probably would give her a spinoff or she would land someplace else. My God, I caused so much slack from that. But honestly, I don’t know.’
He continued, ‘I wish nothing, nothing but the best for Teresa. I truly, truly do.’
Teresa has not publicly issued a statement on his comments, but a source told TMZ that there is ‘absolutely no truth to the claim.’
When asked if he heard from her directly, Frank revealed, ‘Oh, you’re damn right I did!
‘You’re damn right I did. I got the DM from Teresa. She DM’d me.’
Without giving away details of her message she sent through Instagram, he did admit that ‘it’s a shame’ about what’s going on with the cast and how there are two different teams.
The cast was even seated at separate tables for the non-traditional reunion: Teresa, Dolores, Jennifer Aydin and Jackie Goldschneider were in one room while Melissa Gorga, Margaret Josephs, Rachel Fuda, Danielle Cabral and Jennifer Fessler were in another.
‘Listen, there’s definitely a division amongst the people in our cast, but I love Teresa. I’ve known her since she’s f**king 14 years old. And seriously, I just hope that everything works out the best for her, and I wouldn’t be happier than if she was happy.’

He said: ‘I did not say Teresa was asked to leave. In that interview, what I said is we have heard nothing whatsoever from Bravo. What I did say is they would never fire her’
A big reason for the division of the cast is because Teresa and Melissa do not speak to each other anymore. The estranged sisters-in-law had mutually decided they were done communicating during the season 13 reunion.
Things are still the same since about a month ago, the House of Villains star told Kelly Ripa that she would ‘never again’ film with her brother Joe Gorga’s wife.
Meanwhile, Melissa has told producers that she didn’t want to answer any questions about Teresa while filming last season.
‘They’re going to have to pick one,’ Frank told DailyMail.com during the interview that took place at ‘An Evening of Comedy Starring Joe Gorga’ in Atlantic City.
‘I didn’t do much filming this year and I’m at the bottom of the totem pole… But I got to be honest with you, I don’t think that the show can continue with two sides.’
Season 14 even highlighted the divide between the housewives’ husbands. Teresa’s husband Luis ‘Louie’ Ruelas had a guys’ night at their home attended by Dolores’ boyfriend Paul Connell and Jen’s husband Bill Aydin.
Separately, Joe Gorga threw a party at his house, which was attended by Frank, John Fuda, Joe Begnino and Jeffrey Fessler.
Since filming has halted, Frank has revealed that he ‘hasn’t spoken to Louie.’
‘I don’t have any ill feelings towards Louie. If Louie called me and asked me to meet him for lunch tomorrow, I would meet him. But me and Louie don’t — I got to be honest — we don’t communicate. We don’t communicate.’

The Dispensary of New Jersey founder previously claimed that Teresa ‘changed’ ever since Louie’s been around. He also said that, ‘She’s just not herself. Not the Teresa I grew up with.’
The Housewives OG was married to Joe Giudice for nearly 20 years until they split in December 2019 after they both completed their prison sentence for fraud charges.
Teresa went on to marry Louie in August 2022, blending both of their families and starting a new chapter of her life.
While speaking to DailyMail.com, Frank elaborated, ‘Joe Gorga and Joe Giudice had issues, but we always got through them. But when I say different, it just seems like Teresa is always defending Louie and whether it’s warranted or not warranted, I feel bad for her because it’s not the Teresa that I used to know.’
Teresa, for example, defended her husband for making comments on the show about how he hopes Margaret’s son ‘suffers.’
He continued, ‘As much as Teresa has a three-day delay, I don’t think she’s being controlled. Teresa’s her own person. She’s very strong-willed, and Teresa’s not stupid. She’s been through a lot. She’s learned from experience.’
Admitting to having ‘no idea’ what Bravo’s plans are, Frank is ultimately rooting for his ex-wife, whom he shares two children with.
‘As long as it works best for Dolores, I’m good. Dolores is the most sensible one and has the most common sense out of everybody. So, no matter what, I hope Dolores is back because Dolores is friendly with everybody.’
Frank, his fiancée Brittany Mattessich, and his kids recently supported Dolores and cast from RHONJ at Dolores’ annual softball game, Battle For Brooklyn, on August 14.
The charity event, which is normally filmed for RHONJ, benefitted the Maimonides Breast Center, raising more than $100,000 from those who attended.
Dolores told DailyMail.com during the game that ‘no one knows’ what’s going to happen next. She said, ‘They just don’t know what to do. And I think everybody, they’re all just taking a break from it right now.

‘I am friends with all of them [from the cast] and I just feel like unless it’s all of us, it doesn’t feel right to me.’
A few days later, the RHONJ cast, including Melissa, Danielle and Rachel, were seen supporting Frank, Gorga, Fuda and Begnino at Harrah’s Resort and Casino in Atlantic City on August 17.
Frank spilled, ‘I have a good time, and I get up there [on stage], and next thing you know, it’s nothing close to what I planned because I start talking and talking and the fans go along with it and I just enjoy it.
‘This is awesome because it could be gone tomorrow and it’s all about the fans. If it wasn’t for the fans, we wouldn’t be here.’
