It’s a hectic time of year for everyone, but I suspect Francesca Cumani has been busier than most.
The 40-year-old horse racing presenter, who was heavily pregnant, found herself snowed in at her Lake District home and then, when she managed to get out, suffered a blown tyre and had to be rescued in a tow truck.
Thankfully, the saga ended with some happy news as Francesca and her triathlete partner Max Johnson, welcomed their second child and Francesca’s third.
Celebrating the happy news, Francesca says: ‘At 09.45 Monday morning we became a family of five.’
Ample hands for future snow shovelling!

At 62, lawyer Nancy Dell’Olio, ex-love of former England football boss Sven-Goran Eriksson, tells me: ‘I’m still looking for Prince Charming.’
But has she found him? At the Boisdale Cigar Smoker of the Year event, hosted by Tom Parker Bowles, she rearranged place cards to sit by Nick Ferrari, 64, the married LBC host.
Cleverly does it, Edie
He is always immaculately turned out, so perhaps Home Secretary James Cleverly is taking fashion inspiration close to home.
I can reveal that his cousin’s daughter is up-and-coming model Edie Liberty Rose, 23. Though she has yet to become his official stylist, James, 54, tells me: ‘Edie may have passed comment on my clothing over time. Not sure it was ever damning but to be equally fair I don’t think I ever dazzled her with my threads.’

She was scouted at a music festival at 15 and is now signed to Storm Models, where Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne started their careers. Since then she’s posed for Dior and was most recently the face of a collaboration between Ganni and 66 Degrees North. Perhaps a collaboration with the Cabinet is next?
Emily fails to spot a prince…
Former BBC Newsnight host Emily Maitlis was left red-faced at The Crown premiere in London last week. After watching the final ever episode of the Netflix drama at The Royal Festival Hall, she joined the star-studded cast at the after-party.
Here, a young man approached her to tell her what a fan he was of her current affairs podcast, The News Agents, to which she replied: ‘How lovely, I’m so touched! What do you do?’ He said he was a ‘jobbing actor’ who was ‘just trying to find roles’.
Emily, 53, asked if she would have seen him in anything. After an awkward pause, he said, ‘The Crown… I play Prince William. I’m Rufus.’ An embarrassed Emily swiftly apologised to 17-year-old Rufus Kampa. Emily, admitted the next day: ‘I suffer from facial blindness. I just don’t recognise faces. We were at The Crown finale so it should have been a giveaway.’ I’ll say!
