Former Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has been forced to cancel a string of shows after he started ‘spitting blood’ and had to undergo surgery.
The singer, 43, was sacked from his band after he was convicted of attacking his now wife Vikki Ager in 2020, and has since gone solo.
Tom was set to play in Newcastle last week but the show was cancelled ‘on doctor’s orders,’ another one in Leeds was also cancelled.
He is next set to play Manchester on Friday, Birmingham on Saturday and Birdwell on Sunday, but this is looking unlikely.
In an update shared to Instagram, Tom laid in a hospital bed with bandages around his lower face.

The musician explained in the clip: ‘I had a f***ing abscess removed from my throat today. It was f***ing hell. It was literally a f***ing hell raiser. It was f***ing frightening.
‘At least the bo****k has gone and I’m surviving. Listen, I’m getting fit, I’ve tried to walk around and that…and I’ve just not got it in me until tomorrow. To be continued.’
An update shared last week read: ‘Sad news…unfortunately tonight’s London show (Kentish Town Forum) has had to be postponed due to illness.
‘Sorry guys, Tom has only ever cancelled two shows in his career. He’s been fighting a tooth and mouth infection and has been ordered to rest.
‘Rescheduled show is now 14th October. All tickets are valid. Thank you for understanding. Much love Xxx.’
In December, Noel Gallagher’s band High Flying Birds were supported by former Kasabian frontman Tom in Birmingham despite backlash from fans.
Noel also came under fire in August last year from ticket-holders to his gigs, with some devotees insisting at the time that they would not be going to the concerts if Tom was the support act.
The gig was his second as part of the High Flying Birds’ tour after they took to the stage at the OVO Arena Wembley in London.

Despite troubles in his personal life, Tom has achieved success in the music industry having had six number one albums and four top 10 singles with Kasabian.
A source told The Sun: ‘Noel taking on Tom is a big deal and it has got a lot of people talking.
‘Liam is incredibly close pals with Serge, who openly dismissed his relationship with Tom after he assaulted Vicki.
‘Some have said it feels like Noel’s decision to get Tom on board could be taken as a slight towards Liam.
‘It’s not gone down well with a lot of fans but there are people out there who have forgiven Tom and want to move on.
‘Noel would have known there would be a backlash but he’s clearly standing his ground.’
MailOnline contacted representatives for Noel and Tom for comment at the time.
Tom pleaded guilty to beating Vikki in their back garden on April 9 2020. A judge sentenced him to 200 hours unpaid work, after hearing his then ‘girlfriend wanted him back’.
Tom married his partner Vikki in 2021, one year after pleading guilty to attacking her.
The couple tied the knot at Harbourgh Registry Office in Leicester in July 2021 and released a statement reading: ‘Tom has worked so hard on himself, his health, family unit and his relationship with Vicki over the past year.’
Prior to his court appearance, Kasabian put out a statement on their Facebook page saying Tom was leaving due to ‘personal issues’ and saying they would ‘not be commenting further’.

They later said they had ‘no choice’ but to ask him to leave and branded the incident ‘totally unacceptable’. They also accused him of ‘misleading fans’ in his statement.
