He’s an AFL legend who disappeared from screens two years ago amid much controversy.
And now it appears that one-time Channel Seven commentator Wayne Carey could be making a TV comeback – as a reality star.
Carey, 53, has been rumoured to be joining the cast of the next season of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
Speculation began after Channel 10 teased fans that among the cast of this year’s series is a ‘AFL Hall of Famer and premiership player’.
Now the Herald Sun reports that the description fits Carey since he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2010 and was captain of North Melbourne when they won two premiership flags.

Meanwhile, the report also speculates that fitness influencer Tiffany Hall may also be joining the IAC..GMOH cast.
Other cast rumours include funnyman Ross Noble, Olympian Ian Thorpe and 2021 Married at First Sight star Byrce Ruthven.
In January Channel 10 announced that the new season of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Me Out Here! Australia will premiere on March 24.
The upcoming series will see Robert Irwin co-host the show alongside returning host Julia Morris.

Robert beat out big names Sam Pang, Jimmy Rees, Curtis Stone, Beau Ryan and Tristan MacManus for the TV hosting role.
The network had a hard task replacing popular host Dr Chris Brown, with casting impressed with Robert’s natural charm in the audition.
If Carey does make the cast it will be a major comeback the footy hero.
In September 2022 Carey was escorted out of the Perth casino.

The scandal resulted in Carey quickly vanishing from Melbourne airwaves and from his highly lucrative gig with Channel 7.
Carey’s contract at Channel 7 expired at the end of 2021, with industry site TV Blackbox reporting it would not be renewed.
Channel 7 had already dropped him from the main Friday broadcast in favour of AFLW star Daisy Pearce.
The scandal came after a series of brushes with the law dating back to 1996.
