Sofia Vergara welcomed her Modern Family co-stars to their first-ever cast reunion since the sitcom came to an end.
The award-winning series about a blended family ran a staggering 11 seasons, from 2009 until its finale in April 2020 just after the COVID-19 lockdowns started.
This week, almost all of the principal cast members were finally free to gather together and reminisce about the good old days on the show.
Firing up her Instagram, Sofia, 51, posted a heartwarming group shot of herself at the reunion with eight of her old co-stars and the show’s creators.
But one of the main cast was noticeably absent from the proceedings, and had to be represented by a framed photo held up by the attendees.

Sofia posed for a snap with her old castmates Rico Rodriguez, Ed O’Neill, Nolan Gould, Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Julie Bowen, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreeet.
Also included in the mélange were Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan, the writing duo who created the series all those years ago.
But Ty Burrell, who played the warmhearted but slightly maladroit Phil Dunphy, was unable to make it to this week’s reunion.
His TV daughter Ariel Winter held up a framed picture of him for the group shot, in a move many commenters pointed out made it seem as if he were dead.
Amplifying the funereal impression, the picture frame was jokingly put over the fireplace like an in memoriam display.
‘Bruh i thought Phill died, i almost had a mini heart attack,’ quipped one fan, while another wrote: ‘Had to google and check that Phil was still alive….’
In one snap that indicated how much time has passed, Ariel and her TV sister Sarah posed while toasting the camera with wine and a cocktail.
They began the show playing children, Sarah aged 18 and Ariel aged just 11, but are now grown women, with Sarah currently 32 and Ariel 25.

One particularly heartwarming picture showed Sofia cuddling up on the sofa to Ed O’Neill, who played her character’s husband.
Sofia’s heartwarming reunion with her Modern Family castmates comes four months after it emerged she had split from her steamy husband Joe Manganiello.
The duo tied the knot in 2015 when Sofia was at the height of her international stardom as Gloria Pritchett on Modern Family.
After they announced their separation in July, sources told DailyMail.com that they were initially attracted to one other because they were opposites, but that as time went by their ‘different attitudes’ began to drive a wedge between them.

‘Joe is a big kid, he loves playing Dungeons & Dragons, he loves wrestling, he is all about video games, superhero movies, comic books, going to concerts, huge NFL fan. He chases fun,’ the insider explained.
‘He always loves being out and about and just having a good time. And then when it is time to be serious and when it is time to get to work, he turns on that part of himself, but he is always ready to live life to the fullest and go out and just be fun and have fun,’ the source continued.
‘This was immediately an attraction for Sofia who is completely the opposite, sure she loves having a good time and going out, but she is more concerned with the finer things in life, the trips, lavish dinners, being a celebrity, and everything that comes with all of that,’ the insider alleged.
‘She has been told her entire life she is super-hot and beautiful. It really has got to her head. She also has a temper and gets upset over stupid things very easily whereas Joe tries to let things bounce off of him and go with the flow.’
