The Traitors season two launch date has been confirmed by the BBC.
Fans were hooked by the inaugural season, showing a nail-biting psychological reality competition where 22 strangers played the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust, in the hope of winning up to £120,000.
After months of anticipation, fans of the hit show will be able to tune in for the second series on Wednesday, January 3.
Those looking to binge the first few shows are in for a treat as episode two and three will be available to watch on iPlayer immediately after.
Going forward the show will air on BBC One on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The Traitors season two is set to launch on on Wednesday, January 3, with a first look image of season two showing host Claudia Winkleman posing in front of two cloaked figures
Along with announcing the launch date, BBC bosses have released a brand new image from the second series, showing host Claudia Winkleman standing in front of two cloaked figures.
Their identity remains hidden suggesting they are Traitors on the show but interestingly there are only two figures, given there were three Traitors on last year’s show.
The contestants for season two have yet to be announced.
It has been claimed that as a result of The Traitors’ new slot, season 18 of The Apprentice has been pushed back until February.
MailOnline has contacted BBC for comment.
The first season of The Traitors, which was set in a Scottish castle, launched at the end of November 2022 and concluded December 22.
The first series attracted an average audience of 5.4 million and was so popular that a second series was commissioned in February.
In the show, the majority of contestants are ‘Faithfuls’ and must work out who amongst them are ‘Traitors’ – who have the opportunity to ‘murder’ a fellow contestant each night.
The group has daily ‘banishments’ in which they must vote to kick out who they think is a Traitor, all while working together on challenges to raise money for the prize fund.
Show bosses are convinced that the next installment will be another success and have already approved and opened up casting applications for a third season.
