Finding Prince Charming alum Jasen Kaplan died by suicide at the age of 46, per TMZ.
Law enforcement sources confirmed to the outlet in an article published on Friday that his death has officially been ruled as a suicide.Â
The former reality star passed away at a hospital in New York City on December 31, according to Page Six on Thursday.
The NYPD was reportedly taking part in an investigation in regards to the death of a 46-year-old male at the late star’s apartment building and the chief medical examiner would determine Kaplan’s cause of death.
It comes just weeks after the ‘sudden’ passing of his former castmate Chad Spodick – with his death also confirmed as a suicide.Â
Kaplan had also been a celebrity makeup artist, working with stars such as Eva Longoria, Lynda Carter, Kelly Osbourne, Bethenny Frankel, Sonja Morgan and Cyndi Lauper.

He was a proud owner of his beloved dog Coco – who would make occasional appearances on his Instagram page.
The TV personality had starred on season one of the reality dating series Finding Prince Charming when it first aired in 2016 – but was eliminated during week two. Â
Kaplan – who had nearly 100,000 followers on Instagram – also developed a close friendship with some A-list celebrities, including Frankel and Osbourne who paid special tributes upon learning of his death.Â
The Real Housewives Of New York alum shared a series of photos and clips of the late star from over the years.Â
‘Jasen Kaplan had a positive energy that was truly infectious. He was fun, vibrant, and always brought his A game,’ she wrote in an emotional message in the caption.
‘The world lost a one-of-a-kind gem on New Year’s Eve, which still doesn’t feel real,’ she added, while also reflecting on his ‘generous’ personality and how he had ‘a genuine interest in everyone around him.’
Frankel shared that Kaplan ‘made people feel seen, celebrated, and better about themselves.’
The pair also communicated with each other often, with the star adding that, ‘He sent me weekly messages with his finds. His most recent was a fancy Hello Kitty cookie jar that reminded him of me.’

Kaplan had been more than a makeup artist, but also ‘also my friend and a constant part of my team.’ He was also close to her teenage daughter Bryn, 15.
‘He always showed up and cheered me on – in life, work, and online. He’s seen me in every form, from fixing broken zippers to making me feel like a supermodel. If you were around him, you were happier. He always had a story.’
Frankel further reflected on his talent as a makeup artist before encouraging her followers to ‘tell someone you love them today.
‘I’m holding my beautiful girl extra close – Jasen loved and adored her. You will always be on the B Team, for life and the afterlife. No one is going to have better glam than I do in heaven. Rest in peace, and enjoy all the caviar and coconut cake.’
Osbourne also shared slides to her Instagram stories as she paid tribute to Kaplan – giving insight into their friendship as well.
She shared throwback photos and wrote, ‘I’m devastated I love you so much @jasenkaplan thank you for all the love, laughter and joy you brought into my life.
‘I hope you are at peace now. Life will never be the same without you! RIP my dear friend!’
She also ensured that his dog Coco will ‘always be looked after’ before adding that she will ‘miss’ their ‘late night FaceTimes.’

Last month in December, fellow Finding Prince Charming star Chad Spodick died of suicide at age 42.
A spokesperson for the Boca Raton Police Department confirmed the death was a suicide, according to People.
He also appeared on season one of the reality dating series in 2016 – which had been hosted by NSYNC member Lance Bass.
However, he quit the show during week six – before rejoining the contestants during a reunion episode.

A friend of the late star set up the page to help raise money for funeral costs while his mother Felice Harwood is listed as a beneficiary.
Spodick also had a passion for aviation and had years of pilot experience and additionally co-founded the luxurious charter company Goldsuite Jets in 2020.
Before his death, Spodick had celebrated his 42nd birthday on November 26, 2025.
