Finding Prince Charming star Jasen Kaplan has died at the age of 46 – only weeks after the ‘sudden’ passing of his former castmate Chad Spodick.
Kaplan passed away at a hospital in New York City on December 31, Page Six reported on Thursday.
The NYPD also told the outlet that an investigation is currently underway in regards to the death of a 46-year-old male at the late star’s apartment building while the chief medical examiner will determine Kaplan’s cause of death.
The TV personality had appeared on season one of the reality dating series when it first aired in 2016 – but was eliminated during week two.
He was also a celebrity makeup artist, working with stars such as Eva Longoria, Lynda Carter, Kelly Osbourne, Bethenny Frankel, Sonja Morgan and Cyndi Lauper.
Kaplan had been a proud owner of his beloved dog Coco – who would make occasional appearances on his Instagram page.

The media personality – who had nearly 100,000 followers on Instagram – also developed a close friendship with some A-list celebrities, including Frankel and Osbourne who paid special tributes upon learning of his death.
The Real Housewives Of New York alum shared a series of photos and clips of the late star from over the years.
‘Jasen Kaplan had a positive energy that was truly infectious. He was fun, vibrant, and always brought his A game,’ she wrote in an emotional message in the caption.
‘The world lost a one-of-a-kind gem on New Year’s Eve, which still doesn’t feel real,’ she added, while also reflecting on his ‘generous’ personality and how he had ‘a genuine interest in everyone around him.’
Frankel shared that Kaplan ‘made people feel seen, celebrated, and better about themselves.’
The pair also communicated with each other often, with the star adding that, ‘He sent me weekly messages with his finds. His most recent was a fancy Hello Kitty cookie jar that reminded him of me.’
Kaplan had been more than a makeup artist, but also ‘also my friend and a constant part of my team.’ He was also close to her teenage daughter Bryn, 15.
‘He always showed up and cheered me on – in life, work, and online. He’s seen me in every form, from fixing broken zippers to making me feel like a supermodel. If you were around him, you were happier. He always had a story.’

Osbourne also included other lighthearted moments they had shared in the past, such as when Kaplan dressed up as her one time.
The late star had been active on social media leading up to his death, often showing his makeup looks on celebrities he collaborated with.
Last month in December, fellow Finding Prince Charming star Chad Spodick died of suicide at age 42.
A spokesperson for the Boca Raton Police Department confirmed the death was a suicide, according to People.
He also appeared on season one of the reality dating series in 2016 – which had been hosted by NSYNC member Lance Bass.
However, he quit the show during week six – before rejoining the contestants during a reunion episode.
The ‘devastating’ news of his death had been confirmed on a GoFundMe page which was created on December 4. A friend of the late star set up the page to help raise $20,000 for funeral costs while his mother Felice Harwood is listed as a beneficiary.

He was described as someone ‘who poured himself into others’ and also ‘lifted up his friends.’
Chad also had a ‘love for animals’ and ‘cared deeply for every creature, especially his four beloved dogs and his bird, Cosmo.
The emotional message concluded as his friend opened up about the ‘weight’ of trying to ‘navigate this loss.’
‘Thank you for helping us honor Chad’s memory and support the people – and animals – he loved most.’
Upon hearing the shock news of his passing, social media users mourned the loss in the comment section of his recent Instagram posts.

Spodick had been last active on the social media site when he uploaded a selfie under the sun on November 21.
His niece commented, ‘my beautiful uncle fly high uncle chad love you forever please donate if you can to support our family any contributions are appreciated.’
Spodick also had a passion for aviation and had years of pilot experience and additionally co-founded the luxurious charter company Goldsuite Jets in 2020.
Before his death, Chad had celebrated his 42nd birthday on November 26, 2025.
