Sharna Burgess has responded to claims that she is ‘forcing’ her and fiancé Brian Austin Green’s children to ‘be girls.’
The Dancing With The Stars pro, 38 – who recently unveiled her new, bold reddish locks – opened up on the topic during Wednesday’s episode of the Between Us Moms podcast.
At one point, the dancer was asked about possibly doing a reality TV show with her family – and revealed that she would never do it.
Burgess explained that she wanted to keep her kids ‘out of that’ and further added, ‘We already get media articles like I’m forcing Zane to be a girl because I haven’t cut his hair yet.
‘Or the ridiculous people saying that the kids are being forced to be girls. I don’t understand it.’
Sharna Burgess, 38, has responded to claims that she is ‘forcing’ her and fiancé Brian Austin Green’s children to ‘be girls’; seen in 2023 in Las Vegas
The beauty shares son Zane, two, with Brian – whom she became engaged to one year earlier in 2023.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 actor was previously married to Megan Fox from 2010 until their divorce was finalized in 2021.
The former couple share sons Noah, 12, Bodhi, 10, and Journey, eight while Green is also father to Kassius, 21 – whom he welcomed with ex Vanessa Marcil.
Sharna continued, ‘So imagine us doing an actual reality show. The attention is just not healthy for our kids and it’s certainly not Brian’s style either.’
The star also shared her thoughts on her kids wanting to possibly follow in their parents footsteps and work in entertainment.
‘Should they choose to be in this industry because they love an art form that has them in the public eye, then we address that,’ Burgess explained on the podcast.
In regards to Sharna and her blended family having a reality show, she revealed, ‘We’ve had people interested and I get why.
‘There’s so much that I’m sure people would love to know about what happens in our household and having such a busy chaotic life, and it’s fun but it’s also just not me.’

However, Burgess added, ‘I think I want to keep my kids out of that and I certainly know Brian and Megan want to. I want to keep them out of that.’
During the interview, the beauty later explained, ‘I worked in reality television so I could probably handle it a little bit more but I also really like my privacy when it comes to some things.’
‘I’m happy to share what I wanna share what I think is helpful – we do on the podcast – but my home is sacred and my family is sacred and I wanna protect that as much as possible.’
Last year in July, Sharna clapped back at ‘ignorant’ trolls as she defended putting a pink scrunchie in her son, Zane’s, long locks in an Instagram story rant.
At the time, she had previously uploaded a snap of the little one who wore the hair piece to hold back some strands away from his face.
In the clip, per Us Weekly, the star addressed some of the criticism she received, and stated, ‘I’ve had some people in my DMs that were so passionately angry at me for doing that.’
She added, ‘I had someone comment on the fact that his hair tie this morning is pink.’
She then explained, ‘I don’t get this whole “Pink is for girls” and me putting a pink hair tie [doesn’t] symbolize anything. I don’t get this whole “long hair is feminine or for girls.”‘

‘I mean, I’m sorry, have you seen Jason Momoa?’ she expressed. ‘I need to do a post of all the men that majority of women, and probably majority of men, find attractive and so many of them have long hair.’
The pro dancer added, ‘Like, it is just wild to me that when it’s kids, it’s like we’re pushing some agenda on them. It’s so f***ing dumb.’
In response to a fan’s question of, ‘Are you going to let Zanes hair grow long like his brothers,’ which appeared in a box in the reel, Sharna replied that she was ‘absolutely letting’ her son grow his ‘beautiful baby hair.’
In a caption added towards the top of the video, she penned, ‘Sorry for my rant to this person that asked, so not mad at you just annoyed at ignorant narrow-minded ppl and their dumb comments.’
And in June 2023, Brian also shut down the claim that both he and Fox ‘force’ their sons to wear girls clothing.
Austin responded to Robby Starbuck who claimed that two of Megan and Brian’s children had stated, ‘they were forced by their mom to wear girls clothes as their nanny tried to console them.’
While talking to TMZ, Brian stated, ‘It’s a totally bogus story. There are only a few people in their world that can actually verify whether or not a story like this is true and I can tell you with absolute certainty it is no.’
The star added, ‘This person trying to claim this is true is a perfect example of someone with selfish motives that does not care about negatively affecting a parent child relationship.’

Before the father-of-five slammed the claim, Robby had jumped to Twitter and typed out, ‘We used to live in the same gated community and our kids played at the park.’
‘I saw 2 of them have a full on breakdown saying they were forced by their mom to wear girls clothes as their nanny tried to console them. It’s pure child abuse. Pray for them.
Since their divorce, Brian and Megan both co-parent their children, and Sharna has previously opened up about the co-parenting relationship between the two exes.
On the Not So Hollywood podcast, she said ‘the relationship is great’ because ‘the focus is the kids.’

‘There’s nothing else that needs to be considered other than making this a beautiful, healthy, whole environment for them…’
Burgess has been keeping busy and is a judge on the Australian version of Dancing With The Stars.
Earlier last week, during an appearing on The Morning Show for Channel Seven, Sharna ditched her blonde hair for a new, vibrant reddish tint.
She was also been joined by Brian Austin Green as the couple opened up about their own Oldish podcast and how their son, Zane, enjoys an Australian delicacy called Vegemite.
