Kanye West once again sparked concern among fans after posting a photo of the doomed couple Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen.
Amid yet another round of antisemitic rants and social media outbursts, Kanye took to X and Instagram to share an image of the infamous punk rock pair, whose tumultuous romance ended in tragedy—Nancy’s 1978 murder and Sid’s 1979 fatal overdose.
The post quickly raised eyebrows, not just because of Kanye’s ongoing rumored marital troubles with Bianca Censori, but also due to a disturbing detail in the image: Sid was wearing a T-shirt featuring a swastika.
The timing was particularly alarming, coming just a day after Kanye declared he planned to wear a swastika shirt at next year’s Super Bowl.
The Sid and Nancy reference also followed DailyMail.com’s report that Kanye’s recent inflammatory remarks have created serious family tensions for his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.
Fans flooded social media with reactions, expressing everything from concern to disappointment.

Kanye West once again sparked concern among fans after posting a photo of the doomed couple Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen; (Kanye and Bianca Censori in February 2024)

Amid yet another round of antisemitic rants and social media outbursts, Kanye took to X and Instagram to share an image of the infamous pair
‘Just observing this slow, melting trainwreck,’ one person commented under Kanye’s post, while another wrote, ‘Damn, what happened to my favorite rapper… this is not it bruh.’
Spungen was found fatally stabbed at New York’s Chelsea Hotel on October 12, 1978.
Her boyfriend, Sex Pistols bassist Vicious, was arrested for her murder, though theories suggest it may have been a botched robbery or a fight gone wrong.
Before the case went to trial, Sid died of a heroin overdose on February 2, 1979, at age 21. Out on bail, he was celebrating his release when he took a lethal dose, reportedly supplied by his mother.
His death sparked speculation of suicide, as some believe he couldn’t live without Nancy. Their turbulent relationship became one of punk rock’s most infamous tragedies.
Meanwhile, Kanye, 47, alluded to the swastika shirt he was selling online earlier this month – and vowed to perform while wearing it at next year’s Super Bowl – in his latest series of X posts Thursday.
West is father to four children with Kardashian, 44: daughters North, 11, and Chicago, seven; and sons Saint, nine, and Psalm, five.
The controversial race-related remarks comes after insiders told Dailymail.com earlier this month that Kim Kardashian has had searing tension with Scott Disick, 41, for not publicly condemning her ex-husband’s remarks via her massive platforms.
Disick, who shares three children with Kim’s older sister Kourtney, 45, ‘was raised Jewish and the fact that Kim has not denounced Kanye West’s hateful anti-Semitic remarks absolutely infuriates him,’ a source told Dailymail.com.
Disick ‘has had it with Kanye and takes personal offense to his attack on the Jewish community,’ the source continued.
West delivered more candid thoughts about race relations to his 33.2 million X followers on Thursday, a day after he was seen on The Kardashians on Hulu.

The post quickly raised eyebrows, not just because of Kanye’s ongoing rumored marital troubles with Bianca Censori , but also due to a disturbing detail in the image: Sid was wearing a T-shirt featuring a swastika; (seen in February)

West began in saying that ‘we’re taught racism … and then told not to be racist.’
The Chicago native then tweeted that ‘there are a lot of black people who have public platforms that are not [allowed to] fully express themselves. But I can and I do.’
The 24-time Grammy winner said that sees ‘past all of this’ – and pointed out what he felt to be problems the Black community faces in American society.
‘Always remember these n***** have jobs,’ West said. ‘Go find a boss not an employee to speak up and even with them. I’ll show how they serve their masters who are the people who invest in their companies.’
The Through the Wire vocalist said that ‘Black people don’t control the black dollar’ and that ‘when you don’t have money you don’t solely have power [and that] the only way to have any power when you don’t solely have money is to work as a group.’
The Black Skinhead artist said that ‘no one n**** working on a TV show or a podcast can move me left or right.
‘Go get n****s to take time out they day and march against me or shut the f*** you you broke ass internet gangsters Suuuck myyy biiiig blaaaack n********** c***.
West boasted that he ‘just made 17 million dollars 17 minutes ago’ and that he ‘made Graduation,’ his feted 2007 album that featured hits such as Can’t Tell Me Nothing, Flashing Lights and Stronger.
West – whose number one hits include 2024’s Carnival and 2005’s Gold Digger – later clarified remarks he made pertaining to racial and economic factors.
‘Let me clarify,’ the Bound 2 performer. ‘I do not have a problem with broke n****s. It’s just broke n****s need to shut the f*** up when genius rich n****s is talking.
‘Any comment against me will only leave you more broke and if I listened to you I’d be more broke.’
West has remained in the crosshairs of controversy for much of the month amid a torrent of tweets propagating antisemitism.
On February 11, the shop on West’s Yeezy Website – which he advertised with an expensive ad in Sunday’s Super Bowl – was taken offline by Shopify after he was selling a white shirt with a black swastika in the center.
West spoke more about the controversy in a series of tweets Thursday – promising to wear the swastika shirt onstage at the Super Bowl.
‘Next year I’m performing at the superbowl wearing my wittle T shirt,’ he said. ‘People with money bought my wittle t shirt.’

West compared himself to comedian Dave Chappelle in one of his tweets Thursday
He added that Shopify ‘gave [him his] account back’ after taking down his store after controversy erupted over the shirts, but that he was ‘not going to use it.’
The Anti-Defamation League said in a post on X/Twitter February 10: ‘As if we needed further proof of Kanye’s antisemitism, he chose to put a single item for sale on his website – a t-shirt emblazoned with a swastika.
‘If that wasn’t enough, the t-shirt is labeled on Kanye’s website as “HH-01,”which is code for “Heil Hitler.” Kanye was tweeting vile antisemitism nonstop since last week. There’s no excuse for this kind of behavior.’
The organization added, ‘Even worse, Kanye advertised his website during the Super Bowl, amplifying it beyond his already massive social media audience.’
Tal-Or Cohen Montemayor, the founder and executive director of CyberWell, an online anti-Semitism watchdog group, told Dailymail.com February 11 that the organization made efforts to go over West’s head and have the page removed.
‘CyberWell reached out Shopify’s compliance and safety teams to alert them to flagrant abuse of Shopfiy’s services by yeezy.com in violation of the terms of use,’ Cohen Montemayor said.
Montemayor said that ‘Shopify’s team acted swiftly and decidedly by removing yeezy.com’s “shop” for peddling antisemitic filth.’
Cohen Montemayor praised Shopify for the decision, saying, ‘This is the type of leadership and accountability is what should be expected from ALL social media platform and digital service CEOs.

The Anti-Defamation League stated their response to the shirt in a post on X/Twitter earlier this month
Said Cohen Montemayor: ”When someone flagrantly abuses your platform or services to spew hate with impunity they should be stopped.
Cohen Montemayor noted that ‘GoDaddy provides the domain services for yeezy.com – the Swastika T-Shirt shop is in direct violation of its terms of service and it would do well to follow suit and release the rights to the domain.’
Podcaster Van Lathan, who famously clashed with West in a heated discussion in the TMZ newsroom in May of 2018, was critical of the rapper’s latest series of tweets in a post on the platform Thursday, calling him ‘the slow kid in the Black community’s class.’
‘I’m glad you’re rich,’ Lathan wrote. ‘It seems to be the only thing you care about. Money is dope you can do a lot of stuff with it. Sincerely. We need it, as a community.
‘One thing that’s more valuable than money is people. I’m sure you’d agree no dollar amount can measure North’s laugh, I’m sure you’d go broke to bring your mother back. I would for my dad, who I lost in ‘21.’

Podcaster Van Lathan, who famously clashed with West in a heated discussion in the TMZ newsroom in May of 2018, was critical of the rapper’s tweets Thursday
Lathan told West he was ‘trapped in an infant’s bubble, where [he] can be reckless and careless and people excuse it because of affection.
‘We realize this, and try to ignore you, until the baby picks up something sharp like Nazism, domestic abuse, etc. then we gotta child proof things until you stop crying.’
Lathan, who cohosts the podcast Higher Learning with Rachel Lindsay, continued, ‘You’re right about one thing, I am a slave to capitalism. We all are. Gotta work.
‘But No one is more of a slave than the man who puts money over dignity. No one. So I’ll be a slave, and you be what you are, which is the slow kid in the Black community’s class. Keep eating boogers Kanye.’
