Fearne Cotton shares health update four months after undergoing surgery to remove two tumours on her jawline

Fearne Cotton has shared a health update with fans, four months after undergoing surgery to remove two benign tumours from her jawline.

The TV personality, 42, took to Instagram with a beaming selfie following her latest ultrasound scan and confirmed the operation had been a success and there was ‘not a scrap’ of the masses remaining.

Fearne discovered the ‘growing’ tumours in December and swiftly went under the knife, just weeks after pal Davina McCall’s own brain tumour diagnosis and surgery.

At the time the former Radio 1 host received an outpouring of support from fans and celebrity friends alike, including Davina, Holly Willoughby and Gok Wan, who praised her openness and bravery in sharing her health journey.

In her latest Instagram post Fearne shared a list of her recent accomplishments and teased upcoming work plans before revealing the scan’s results.

She penned: ‘Also, had an ultra sound today and I’m happy to say that I’m healing well post operation and there is not a scrap of tumour left on my parotid gland’.

‘Grateful. To those of you who sent me messages that have a similar operation coming up I’m sending love for your recovery’.

She also wrote: ‘I started writing one book (which I will finish) but then another idea came to me urgently so I’ve started writing another. It’s flowing. It’s helping me figure things out. It’s leading me down very interesting paths. I’m not sure I’ve ever felt more desperate to write a book. Being in this sort of flow is my favourite. Whether it’s writing or painting. More on this book soon.’

It comes after Fearne revealed her health scare has changed her outlook on life and ‘now feels great’ while gusheing that she was ‘ready for life’ following her split from her ex-husband Jesse Wood.

The TV presenter announced the separation from Jesse, the son of Rolling Stones bass guitarist Ronnie Wood, in December after 10 years of marriage.

She has since made swipes at Jesse and moved on with TV director Elliot Hegarty, with the pair having been seen kissing during a recent night out.

Speaking to Scott Mills on his BBC Radio 2 breakfast show last month, Fearne gushed that she is ‘really happy’ and is ‘springing out of bed in the morning ready for life’.

Scott, who has known Fearne for 25 years, said he has never seen her ‘more positive or happier’, prompting Fearne to agree and reply: ‘Yeah I feel great!’

She told how her health scare has changed her outlook and said she has been seeking comfort from pal Davina.

‘I’m really happy and I think when you’ve had a health thing like that it does just give you this baseline gratitude where you just feel, you know I have talked to Davina a hell of a lot as our operations were within a month of each other which so weird,’ she continued.

‘We’ve had so many brilliant chats about yeah just feeling very grateful for the basics and sort of springing out of bed in the morning ready for life so yeah I’m feeling good I’ve got lots of exciting stuff happening this year so I’m ready for it!’

Reflecting on her health scare, Fearne said she is ‘massively grateful’ because she didn’t think the lump was anything to worry about, before learning it was a tumour.

‘I went for an ultrasound and it ended up being a tumour, which was obviously a big surprise,’ she explained.

‘Now I feel absolutely great I’m really grateful and you know go and get those lumps and bumps checked out if you’ve got them it’s really really important.

‘I really thought this is going to be a non-event and it ended up being you know major surgery, but I’m healthy and feeling great and just massively grateful.’

Revealing the news in December she said: ‘Hey gang I’m going to be out of action for a bit due to a surgery. I felt a lump under my ear on my jawline a while ago now but this year noticed it was growing.

‘Turns out it’s a benign tumour and another small one above it on the saliva gland. I’m feeling positive about it all and will take the opportunity to rest and slow right down.

‘If you feel a lump or bump or feel like something is a bit off, always go get it checked. I’m so glad I did as the longer you leave these things the more complicated things become.

‘It’s obviously so weird that only a couple of months ago Davina told me about her tumour and then weeks later I was calling her having discovered mine. I’m not only lucky she’s a bloody good mate but also a beacon of light and positivity when it comes to this stuff. Sending you all loads of love and I’ll see you soon.’

Fearne had the benign tumour removed just days before her split from her husband Jesse – who she shares her son Rex and daughter Honey with – emerged.

‘It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage,’ the radio host said in an online post at the time, saying their priority would ‘always be’ their children.

Fearne is also stepmother to Jesse’s children Arthur, 21, and Lola, 18, from his first marriage to Tilly Wood.

Jesse, 48, has since moved on his former actress and model, Gemma Gregory, 39, who now works in the wellness business.

Meanwhile, Fearne is said to have been secretly dating TV director Elliot Hegarty since January.

Their romance emerged when they were seen passionately kissing on a night out in Soho before they walked hand-in-hand while accompanied by friends.

The single mother, 51, was said to be ‘totally shocked and devastated because she only knew that Elliot and Fearne were friends’ and a friend told the Mail: ‘It was an awful way for her to find out and it has been quite ghastly for her.’

Fearne recently spoke about wanting to have a ‘burst of fun’ and ‘go and get p***ed’ following the end of her marriage.
