Farmer Wants A Wife star Joe Bobbin has shared heartfelt insights into his close bond with his mother.
The 2024 series of the Channel Seven dating show kicked off last weekend and former Canberra Raiders junior Joe, 33, is among the farmers looking for love.
And the fan-favourite recently revealed that he left a job in Newcastle to return home to support his mother, Dinah Coleman, after she was sadly diagnosed with cancer.
‘He would take me to appointments, cook meals for me and made sure I was always comfortable, all while working on the farm,’ Dinah told Woman’s Day.
‘Joe made it possible for me to live back on the farm where I felt at home and loved, and I believe this made a huge difference in my recovery.’

Joe told the publication that he did not hesitate to make the sacrifice.
‘She didn’t like the city, but she couldn’t be at the farm by herself,’ he said.
‘My mum and dad are separated. So I just said, “If this is going to help you, I’ll move down there with you.” It was all about making sure she had meals, making fires and ensuring she was always warm and comfortable through that process.’
He noted that his mother’s illness was a profound learning experience.
‘You view your parents as invincible. And then you get this realisation that they are mortal like the rest of us,’ he added.

And some fans are convinced that Farmer Joe has a celebrity lookalike.
After Joe showed off his muscular frame while going shirtless on a boating date, fans were quick to compare him to none other than Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman.

Farmer Joe himself has even admitted he has been compared to the muscular Aussie Hollywood legend before.
He told Yahoo! Lifestyle: ‘I’ve had that before actually. I’ve quite often gone to fancy dresses as Wolverine so it’s come in before.’
