They also accused him of being ‘selfish’ and being more focused on being on TV than Eden following her repeated admissions that she wants to leave the show due to her anxiety struggles.

They fumed: ‘Omg, Jayden is a massive red flag. Eden, if you have to agree with everything he says just so you get some peace, he is not the one, babe!!!’;

‘Eden is literally having a breakdown and panic attack & Jayden is too focused about being on camera and taking the ‘experiment’ literally … Brother, forget the cameras & go home with your woman.’;

‘Well that was viscerally uncomfortable TV’; ‘Jayden’s rapid-fire statements are aggressive and triggers anyone’s anxiety;’ ‘This isn’t a cage fight Jayden, let her go mate’;

‘Once again Eden says how she feels and Jayden is trying to CONTROL her and make it as if she’s the bad one’; ‘Jayden needs to be about a thousand times softer with Eden’;

‘Jayden. Time and place. And stop cutting her off !!!!!!’; ‘Watching Jayden make anxiety centred around him and all about how it’s making him feel is unbearable. It is UNBEARABLE watching a selfish guy make mental health about HIM.’

However, other viewers showed their support for Jayden as they praised him for leaving the table with Eden and sympathised with his struggles to understand his bride’s anxiety.

They said: ‘I feel for Eden, but Jayden helped her away from the table, offered her some water and was just talking to her – not yelling, sitting calmly. Not sure he’s doing anything knowingly wrong. That and I did not have feeling bad for Jayden on my bingo card tonight.’;

‘Speaking as someone with anxiety myself, Eden is in a heightened state. We self sabotage. We have intrusive thoughts, & those thoughts *will* take over. I can honestly see where both Jayden and Eden are coming from. Eden needs a safe space. The barriers are up.’

The emotional scenes kicked off when Eden broke down in tears as she admitted she didn’t think she could handle going to the dinner party, which are famously combative.

Through tears, she told Jayden: ‘I obviously thought I could do it, I can’t. The way that I’ve been and the way I’ve felt is clear that I can’t handle this. These events give me such anxiety that it’s not worth it for me anymore.’

They then walked out of the dinner, and Eden admitted she feels like she has to agree with Jayden because she can't escape confrontation with him as they struggled to communicate

Eden eventually agreed to go to the party, but admitted: ‘Right now, I’m feeling anxious. I don’t know what Jayden is going to say to the group.’

While talking one-on-one, Eden insisted she was fine and urged Jayden to go back to the group, but he insisted he wouldn’t leave her while she struggled with her anxiety.

‘It doesn’t matter what I do or how hard I try, I never seem to get it right,’ Jayden said to camera.

Eden appeared emotional as she admitted she ‘sometimes’ feels like she isn’t the right person for him, as the pair struggled to communicate.

Becoming overwhelmed, Eden said of continuing with the experiment: ‘I think I can’t really do this. I don’t think I can do this anymore.’

But Jayden urged her to make up her mind after going back and forth about whether she would stay or leave, with the experts questioning his way of communicating with her as they watched on.

‘I am scared of conflict with him because I can’t get out of it once I’m in it,’ Eden confessed to camera.
