‘An interview with the vampire is incredible television. It definitely deserves more attention’.

‘On #bbctwo 9pm new #InterviewWithTheVampire yesss’.

However some were left disappointed after realising one cast member had been replaced.

Bailey Bass, who previously played Claudia in the supernatural series, has left the show, and Delainey Hayles has now taken on her role.

The bloodthirsty vampire has undergone a change of actor between the two series after Bailey quit the show due to unforeseen circumstances.

Unhappy about the change they wrote: ‘I’m so upset that Bailey Bass isn’t playing Claudia in the latest and future seasons of Interview With The Vampire. She was simply breathtaking as Claudia.’

According to Deadline, Bailey said in a statement: ‘Due to a variety of unforeseen circumstances I’m unable to return to Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire for the second season.

‘Playing Claudia has been a dream role and an incredible ride. I wish Delainey the best of luck in taking over. I cannot wait to watch.

‘I’m extremely appreciative of AMC, the producers, Jacob, Sam, the crew and, of course, the wonderful fans.’

In the sneak peak for the new series last October, fans were given a gory display as Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) and Claudia are brought to an estate by Santiago (Ben Daniels), the leading vampire thespian of the Theatre des Vampires.

As Armand (Assad Zaman) and Louis chat outside, in the background a gory scene ensues as Claudia begins ravishing the humans inside.

As blood spatters the window, men cry and bodies fall from the estate, the two men remain unperturbed by the chaos inside.

As the two characters get to know each other there seems to be a flirtatious vibe between the pair, especially when Armand shows his admiration for Louis who only indulges in human flesh every other day.

However Armand seems to have his suspicions of Louis, particularly when it comes to his reaction when the name Lestat (Sam Reid) is mentioned.

Filming for the second series began in Paris – with scenes actually being shot in Prague and while the Gothic romance was originally broadcast to an American audience, British fans can now tune in through BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

For the AMC version of Interview With The Vampire, production designer Mara LePere-Schloop recreated Storyville district by building building facades for the show’s Iberville and Liberty streets at The Ranch Studios in New Orleans.

The show was also shot at a number of different New Orleans landmarks, including Gallier House, which Anne Rice used as the model for Lestat’s townhouse.

Beuaregard-Keys House, located in the city’s French Quarter, was also used for the interior of Fair Play Saloon.
