Fans were shocked to discover Vernon Kay’s real age when his wife Tess Daly shared an Instagram tribute post for his birthday.
The radio star turned 50 on Sunday, and the Strictly Come Dancing presenter – who he has been married to since 2003 – shared a reel full of sweet unseen footage.
She captioned the post: ’50 TODAY @vernonkay So happy to have spent half of those birthdays with you ‘
But her followers were taken aback to realise that the BBC Radio 2 host was anywhere near the milestone at all.
One said: ‘How do you two never age? Happy birthday!’

A third said: ‘Happy Birthday Vernon! Still a youngster in my eyes! Have a fabulous day celebrating!’
Meanwhile, the birthday boy was inundated with comments from fellow famous faces who wanted to send their well-wishes.
Strictly winner and former Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach wished Vernon a happy birthday and emblazoned her comment with heart emojis.
Other stars from the BBC Latin and ballroom competitions to send a birthday wish included head judge Shirley Ballas, professional dancer Diane Buswell and 2015 contestant Kirsty Gallacher.
West End actresses Denise van Outen and Tamzin Outhwaite also raced to the comments section to send a sweet message each, as did former Hear’Say star Suzanne Shaw.
The Reel featured a number of pictures of the couple throughout their marriage with various snaps of their children Phoebe, 18, and Amber, 14, over the years.
Tess added the Candi Staton track You Got the Love to the post and tagged a friend, noting how much he would ‘appreacte’ the song choice.

Towards the end of last year, Tess, 54, revealed her approach to parenting teen girls, explaining how she thinks being present is key.
‘As a mum, I just want to be as present as I can be. I pride myself on that,’ she told OK! ‘Teenagers don’t always want to talk to you, but even if you’re just physically there in the room with them… I’ll plonk myself there quietly in the corner.’

It comes after Tess revealed that her husband Vernon is the strict parent to the couple’s two daughters Phoebe, 19, and Amber, 14.
The Strictly Come Dancing presenter gave some rare insight into her home life in Buckinghamshire with Radio 2 star Vernon and their teenagers.

Tess went on to explain how she and Vernon make a great team, but her husband is more strict.
‘Vernon is a great dad – he loves them to bits. I don’t know if there’s a good cop, bad cop, but maybe he’s a little stricter sometimes. But it’s for the greater good and we’re a good team.’
‘I’m proud of how down to earth they are. That’s what you want – kids who are kind and who have a good work ethic and respect people. You just try to mould good humans.’
Tess and Vernon’s eldest daughter is currently studying at drama school.
