Paul Hollywood faced backlash after criticising comedian David O’Doherty on his ice cream cake during the Great British Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer on Sunday.
The Channel 4 judge took his job very seriously during the charity show as he described David’s banoffee 70s dessert as ‘inedible’ and ‘revolting’.
He said: ‘That is revolting, what is on the bottom? It’s so hard. It’s inedible’.
David took part alongside Strictly’s Oti Mabuse, sport presenter Gabby Logan and comedian Suzi Ruffell.
And the strict judging didn’t stop there as the celebs had to bake eight perfectly decorated vegan feathered iced rings for the technical challenge.

Paul and fellow judge Prue Leith blindly tasted the biscuits and quickly called David’s ‘terrible’.
Prue added: ‘They’re not baked and the icing is very messy’.
The comments prompted viewers to take to social media platform X to complain about the judge’s ‘harsh’ comments, despite the comedian not being a professional baker and taking part for charity.
Fans wrote: ‘Quite revolting? Harsh Paul!; David just give up; stop picking on David, he’s doing his best!; David had a bad first round but he took it on the chin like the great comedian that he is. Very entertaining’.
During the technical Oti came in third place with Suzi taking second place, and Gabby landing the first place price for her ‘good’ biscuits.
While Paul and Prue had a catch up with presenters Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding they said it would be a ‘miracle’ if David won Star Baker over the other celebrities.
Paul said: ‘It is between the girls it would have to be a miracle for David to win star baker’.
More viewers added: ‘David not being included in the chance of winning starbaker is a bit harsh; Paul is reserving a special level of bleakness for David today’.

The celebrities were later tasked with creating a meringue dessert for their Showstopper and David finally managed to get a compliment from the judges.
With his basic tray meringue with a chocolate flake ship in the center, Paul originally asked: ‘What the hell is that?’
But once tasting the creation, Paul said: ‘The flavour you have manage to get is good the dates and rum really lifts the meringue’.
Prue added: ‘I like it. I think it is so good’.
David looked over the moon with the comments and gushed: ‘Day one revolting, day three baking genius’.
Though it wasn’t enough as Gabby jumped for joy as she was announced as the Star Baker.
She said: ‘My family are going to think I’ve gone to a printers shop on the way home and got this apron done. They’re not going to believe it.
‘It feels surreal. I am chuffed’.
Gabby took part to raise money for charity after her rugby player husband Kenny Logan was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year.
She said: ‘My family was affect by caner last year, my husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer and he caught it really early.
‘He is doing really well now so when I was asked to do this it was a no brainer’.
