Fans Concerned Mystery Condition Triggered Lil Nas X’s Meltdown and Arrest

Lil Nas X’s fans are expressing concern over the musician’s health after his recent nude public meltdown and arrest that resulted in him spending four days behind bars.

Last Thursday, the singer, 26, was discovered wandering the streets of Los Angeles naked and alone before allegedly assaulting police officers.

He was reportedly hospitalized for a ‘possible overdose’ before being taken to jail, where he was hit with four felony charges, including three counts of battery with injury on a peace officer. Lil Nas X has since plead not guilty to all four charges.

The two-time Grammy Award winner addressed the arrest for the time in a video on Tuesday, describing it as ‘terrifying’ while insisting that he is ‘gonna be OK.’

However, fans have been left shaken by the incident and have taken to social media to share their wild theories about what could have caused Lil Nas X’s meltdown.

Many speculated that the singer’s outburst was related to a recent medical issue which caused him to lose control of the right side of his face several months back.

In April, Lil Nas X filmed himself in hospital as he revealed he was suffering from partial facial paralysis.

The condition was serious enough that the hitmaker was forced to him to cancel his headlining appearance for WeHo’s Outloud pride music festival the following month, citing an ‘ongoing medical issue.’

‘After my recent hospital visit, I — like all of you should — must prioritize my health and getting back to 100 percent,’ the rapper said in a statement at the time. 

Lil Nas X’s hospital video began to recirculate online over the weekend in wake of his shocking arrest. 

One fan tweeted on X (formerly Twitter): ‘What’s the medical condition of this?’

A few X users compared Lil Nas X’s facial paralysis to the symptoms of Bell’s palsy, which is ‘a condition that causes sudden weakness in the muscles on one side of the face’ and is also known as ‘an acute peripheral facial palsy of unknown cause,’ according to the Mayo Clinic.

Others compared Lil Nas X’s situation to Justin Bieber’s scary experience with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which he was diagnosed with three years ago.

Ramsay Hunt Syndrome is ‘a shingles outbreak that affects the facial nerve near one of your ears,’ which ‘can also cause one-sided facial paralysis and hearing loss,’ per the Mayo Clinic.

Bieber, 31, has since recovered, but the singer had shared videos in the summer of 2022, revealing his diagnosis and showing how he was suffering from partial facial paralysis similar to what Lil Nas X had gone through.

Another person speculated that the rapper had been diagnosed with Lyme disease, which is an illness usually ‘from the bite of a tick carrying borrelia bacteria’ and presents in various symptoms through different stages that can commonly affect the immune system or cause chronic pain, per the Mayo Clinic. 

Along with the speculation about his health, Lil Nas X’s fans shared unsubstantiated rumors about a ‘possible overdose,’ speculating that his ‘erratic behavior’ was due to ‘ongoing backlash related to his music and public statements.’ 

One X user wildly theorized: ‘Is it because of drugs? Or did he got [sic] a stroke or something?’ 

However, many fans also wished the singer a ‘smooth recovery’ no matter what and spoke out against the ongoing speculation.

‘Health always comes first, wishing him a smooth recovery,’ one fan wrote.

While Lil Nas X has spoken on his recent jail stint, the star has not spoken out publicly about any medical conditions nor diagnoses he could be suffering from at this time.

He has also not addressed any of the ongoing speculation about rumored drug use.

Last week, the award-winning musician made headlines when fan-taken footage of him went viral. In short clips and photos, the rapper was seen wandering the streets of Los Angeles in just a pair of boxer briefs and cowboy boots before stripping fully naked.

Following the now-viral sighting, he was arrested by the LAPD and later seen at his arraignment hearing in Van Nuys on Monday before being released from jail on $75,000 bail.

He pleaded not guilty to four felony charges after police say he assaulted officers who approached him, allegedly instigating them to subdue the singer with a taser.

If convicted of the charges he’s accused of, the singer could face up to five years in state prison.

Lil Nas X broke his silence on the ordeal on Tuesday via social media.

The star — real name: Montero Hill — opened his video by declaring, ‘Your girl is gonna be OK, y’all.’ 

The performer, who filmed himself standing under a balcony outdoors while wearing a lime green cardigan, looked around before honing his eyes back on the camera and adding, ‘She’s gonna be all right.’ 

But Lil Nas X’s eyes opened wide and his tone changed suddenly as he said, ‘S***. That was f***ing terrifying!’

‘That was terrifying,’ he continued. ‘That was a terrifying last four days.’

But his face settled and he returned to his relaxed demeanor as he reiterated, ‘Your girl’s gonna be all right.’
